IBPS to Conduct Common Interviews for all candidates selected in IBPS PO 2012

It's official now. The government has cleared the proposal of common interviews for candidates aspiring jobs in nationalised banks, discarding the old practice of multiple appearances.

The new system will be applicable from immediate effect. The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection or IBPS will hold the common interview on the behalf of 19 government banks. State Bank of India and its associates will not be part of this.

According to the banking circle, financial secretary DK Mittal took special interest in clearing the proposal fast which is going to change the way banks' hiring process.

"It will be a win-win situation for banks and the aspiring candidates," said IBPS director Anup Sankar Bhattacharya. "The hiring process will be smooth for banks. On the other hand, candidates will save energy and cost as they don't have appear for multiple interviews."

IBPS also conducts common written test for these 19 banks. Out of 7,51,032 candidates appeared for bank PO exam on June 17, 2012, just about 8% or 61,339 candidates have qualified for interviews.

IBPS will select candidates according to the total requirement and they will be placed according to their preferences. It will hold interviews in multiple locations to help regional candidates.

    1. Yes, many guys who are actually worthy to get interviewed did not receive a single call coz of multiple selections. But, this time it will be a do or die situation on that very interview day. good luck everybody..

  2. not good... earlier IBPS minimized d chances of getting selected in written n now same will happen in interview...

    1st creamy layer of written qualified gets jobs now creamy layer of interview qualified will get it...

    now if one test / interview goes poor then u r going to wait for next year...

  3. see! last time nearly 1 lakhs candidates are in passed list. It means 1:5 merely....... but this time it seems to be 1:3 or 1:2 (61000 passed ). and common interview process will give benefit for candidates need job. BUt it has a drawback that will a candidate get in their dreamed bank ........ ? .... by raghu ram

    1. i think everybody have chance to select because last year bank recruits near about 22000 candidates and in 2013 there are so many vacancies i think more then 22000 as the news comes on media. if they recruit 25000 then they at least 75000 in 1:3 ratio so i think everybody have great chance and u r from commerce background then then u already have a plus point so don't be nervous....

    1. u have to perform well in interview this is the situation now is do or die...everybody have the fare chances.......u can beat in interview other candidates with good score so hope for the best and perform well in interview......nothing is impossible,stay positive,u have to beat other candidates minimum 5-6 marks in int.....but writtn 80:int.20 procedure aplly than low scorer will be out of the competition otherwise u have fare chances my marks is also same.bst of luck dude
