1. Prasar Bharati Celebrated its Establishment day
Today is Prasar Bharati day. It was on this day in 1997 that the statutory autonomous body was established under the Prasar Bharati Act. 
NOTE:- Prasar Bharati was established following a demand that government owned broadcasters in the country be given autonomy like those in many other countries.
2. India carries out successful user trial of Advanced Air Defence Interceptor Missile from Wheeler Island off Odisha Coast
India today carried out yet another successful user-trial of the Advanced Air Defence Interceptor missile from Wheeler Island off Odisha Coast. 
NOTE:- The user-trial, the second this year, was conducted at around 12.55 pm today from Launch complex-4 on Wheeler island near Dhamra, about 70 km from Bhadrak.
3. Barbosa sworn in as first non-white President of Brazil's Supreme Court
Joaquim Barbosa has been sworn-in as Brazil's Supreme Court's first non-White President at a packed ceremony in the capital Brazilia. 
NOTE:- Barbosa, recently became a household figure in Brazil after overseeing one of the country's biggest corruption trials involving key members of the former President Lula Da Silva's government. 
NOTE:- Brazil has the second largest non-White population in the world after Nigeria, but few of them achieve high office.

4. Fiscal deficit in 2012-13 projected to be about 5.3% of GDP
Fiscal deficit in 2012-13 is projected to be about 5.3 percent of the GDP. The government has unveiled a roadmap to consolidate fiscal deficit. This was stated by Minister of State for Finance Namo Narain Meena. 

5. EU summit opens in Brussels over differences over budget
European Union's summit is officially opened in Brussels, after a three hour delay, caused by stark differences over the EU's next budget. 
NOTE:- The European Commission had proposed an increase in the budget but several of the countries are demanding a cut in the spending.
6. Government’s 4% stake sale in Hindustan Copper over-subscribed
Government's 4 per cent stake sale in state-run, Hindustan Copper was over-subscribed, today. Bids were received for a total of 3.89 crore shares, worth over 603 crore rupees by the close of trading, according to data available from the stock exchanges.
NOTE:- The government set a floor price of 155 rupees per share - a 41 per cent discount to yesterday's closing price of Hindustan Copper on the BSE. Hindustan Copper's shares today closed at 213 rupees, down 20 per cent from its last close. Stake sale in the company has kick-started the government's disinvestment plan, which is targeting to raise 30,000 crore rupees in the current fiscal.
7. Tax refund process streamlined; graft contained: MoS Finance
Government informed the Lok Sabha today that significant success has been achieved in combating corruption in settling refund claims in the Income Tax Department. Minister of State for Finance S.S. Palanimanickam said in a written reply that wherever any instance of corruption comes to his Ministry's notice, the complaint is verified. 
8. India issues visas with Arunachal, Aksai Chin maps to protest china’s claim
Unhappy over China showing Arunachal Pradesh and Aksai Chin as its territory in maps of the country on their new e-passports, India has retaliated by issuing visas, containing Indian maps including these regions as part of it. 
NOTE:- The move came after the Chinese government started issuing new e-passports, carrying pages with watermark Chinese showing these territories as part of China. 
Taking note of this, India through its embassy in Beijing is issuing visas to Chinese nationals with a map of India including these places as part of its territory.
9. International film festival of India kick started in Goa
Goa Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Parrikar has said hosting of the International film festival of India annually has boosted state’s economy along with helping it grow as a brand. 
NOTE:- At the ongoing film festival in Panaji yesterday he said whatever the state spends on IFFI, most part of it reverted to the state coffers besides getting employment opportunities to many.

10. Rating Agency Fitch downgraded the Debt Rating of Sony Corp. and Panasonic Corp.
Fitch, the rating agency in 3rd week of November 2012 downgraded the debt rating of Japan’s Sony Corp and Panasonic Corp to Junk status. 
NOTE:- The ranking of the two corporations were downgraded because of the weakness measured in their TV Operations and Consumer Electronics and the low demand that these brands suffered due to the tough competition faced by the competing brands Apple Inc. and Samsung. 
11. BBC Appointed Tony Hall as its New Director General
Royal Opera House chief executive Tony Hall appointed as director general of the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation).
12. Autar Kaw, a professor of Indian Origin won US Professor of the Year Award-2012
Indian Born Academic, Autar Kaw, a mechanical engineering professor at University of South Florida (USF) on 15 November 2012 was declared winner of the prestigious 2012 US Professor of the Year award. 
NOTE:- Autar Kaw was conferred with the award in the category of Outstanding Doctoral and Research Universities Professor of the Year- for his abilities of providing solutions of complex mathematical equations to students making it simple by providing logical solutions to it beyond the classroom through his website, twitter account and lectures available on You Tube Video.
13. Rafael Benitez Appointed as the New Manager of Chelsea Football Club
Chelsea Football Club officially announced the appointment of Rafael Benitez as their new interim manager. Rafael Benitez who is the former Liverpool manager is going to replace Roberto Di Matteo who was sacked on 21 November 2012.
NOTE:- Rafael Benitez is 52 Years old and became Chelsea's ninth manager since Roman Abramovich was the first owner in 2003.
14. UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav Announced 1650 Crore Rupees Agri Loan waiver
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav  announced an agricultural loan waiver worth 1650 crore Rupees which is supposed to benefit about half a million small and marginal farmers. 
NOTE:- The agricultural loan waiver is applied to farmers who had taken up to 50000 rupees of loan from the UP Sahkari Gram Vikas Bank (UPSGVB) against farm land as security. 
The provision is that the borrower should have repaid at least a tenth of the principal amount by March 31, to be eligible. The waiver would include both the principal due and interest on it.
