Common Written Exam (CWE) of National Insurance Companies

Following the pattern of IBPS CWE, wherein recruitment for 19 Government Banks is done through a common written exam and common written interview, four General Insurance Companies of India have announced a Common Written Exam for the recruitment of Assistants in these companies.

Which companies will be part of this common written exam: 4 General Insurance Companies are participating in this  recruitment process -

  • NATIONAL INSURANCE COMPANY LIMITED
  • THE NEW INDIA ASSURANCE COMPANY LIMITED
  • ORIENTAL INSURANCE COMPANY LIMITED
  • UNITED INDIA INSURANCE COMPANY LIMITED

National Insurance Company Limited would coordinate the written examination, thereafter, Interview and Computer Proficiency Test for the short-listed candidates would be conducted by each Company in their respective zones where their Head Office is situated (except in certain cases).

How many Vacancies: There is a requirement of 2600 (Two  thousand six hundred) Assistants in Cass III Cadre. Vacancies in each company are as given below -


Salary Structure: Scale of Pay (Pre-revision) will be 7640-440(1)-8080-480(2)-9040-540(5)-11740-625(2)-12990-760(3)-15270-790(2)-16850-840(5)- 21050.

Total emoluments (Excluding Other Allowances) works out to approximately Rs.15000/- per month in the initial stage in a metro city.


Educational Qualification: Graduate from a recognized University OR  Pass in HSC/Equivalent (XII pass) examination with 60% marks (50% for Ex-servicemen, SC/ST and Persons with Disabilities);
and Knowledge of Regional Language i.e. Language of the State of Recruitment is essential.

Age Criteria: Between 18-28 years as on 30-06-2013

Exam Pattern: The recruitment Process will be in two phases - Common Wriiten Exam of 2 Hrs duration followed by interview process. Details are as given below -

This notification is a boon for the candidates who are yet to complete their graduation degree as min qualification required in 12th with 60% marks.
