Now Coming to the Question for which you all have opened a new tab.
Yes, you are right. How to Tackle Quant is the question. Many a times most of you goes clueless in exam to find out a strategy to score high in Quant section and after IBPS PO we saw that bundle of candidates were disqualified only due to not clearing sectional cutoff in Quant Section. Again LIC AAO is similar exam, where whole india will compete and cutoff will be damn sure in double digit.

Now why was the paper tough, Going to the root we find out that easier sections like quadratic eqn was missing. Series question were made tricky asking wrong ones. Missing DI is favourite nowadays of IBPS. Data sufficiency and arithmetic questions are a bit lengthy. Before sharing the strategy better to go through syllabus.
” PREPARE FOR THE WORST AND HOPE FOR THE BEST”
After all why take a chance.

Total 30 questions will be there in LIC paper and will carry 90 marks i.e. 3 marks each question. Now 30% weightage is too much you cant ignore this section.

Probable Paper Pattern
1. DI-2( line graph and Tabular)-10 Q
2. Series(Next ones)-5Q
3. Quadratic Equations-5Q
4. Miscellaneous-10Q

Overall Level is Easy to Moderate !!
Tips: Allot minimum time to GA and Computer section. Keep atleast 35 mins for Quant section if you love playing with numbers and can calculate a lot of stuff mentally. But for those who use pen and paper for even calculating %, Allot 45 mins. Reason behind this is Quant is such a section in which you can be 100% confirm about the answer.

  1. DATA INTERPRETATION-Directly move to DI section and try to correct 8 questions atleast. You can leave 1-2 questions if you are not getting the logic how to solve or find it a bit lengthy.(10 mins)
  2. SERIES-Questions are not tough but you have to think fast and try different logics. If you cant solve a question from series in first 30-45 secs then there is very less chance that you are going to crack the logic in next 3 minutes also. So attempt 3-4 questions quickly and in wrong one series question dont be judgemental. What i mean is dont tick the answer just by watching relation between 1 or 2 numbers. Instead be confirm before ticking the correct option.(4 mins)
  3. Quadratic Equations-Now you have got 12-13 correct answers out of 15 and move to Quad eqns section. Be alert while checking those questions having answers as CND.compare each value of x to y separately.Again in this section you can easily pick up 5 correct questions.(6 mins)
  4. ARITHMETIC-Around 16 correct questions(Pretty much to clear the cutoff) and 48 marks in your pocket but thats only 16% of 300. Solving arithmetic questions will help you maximize your Quant score. Now this is the portion that will make gap between Candidate rejected and selected.(if 10 ques is from arithmetic).Nowadays lengthy questions is being asked in miscellaneous portion but if you go through question then its not so tough.Read the question twice and delete irrelevant data which is there only to distract and demotivate you before attempting questions. But it will take time and if you are good at it still it will take 90-120 sec. Few easy topics like Age,average, train and pole, partnership, area volume,Ratio will cover 6-7 questions and could be easily done correctly.(15 mins)
So,Calculating your numbers, WAIT…for applying above strategy practise hard and do implement above strategy at your home. And you all are experienced so dont just stick to it but if needed do modify it so that you can maximize your score.

But whatever strategy you use in exam try to make sure that 22-24 questions are correct and that too with 100% accuracy.80-90% marks in MATHS is too good. Overall cutoff will be also between 230-250 and i.e. again 70-80%. So give your best in each section and will definitely come up with flying colours.
Is it possible to do well in a difficult paper?
Absolutely! If not do well but definitely clear the cutoff comfortable, provided you allocate your time smartly and follow the tips given above.
How does an average student appear for such a paper?
An average student should start by doing the topics that he or she is comfortable in first and aim to clear the cut off . Do only those questions in which you are 100% sure in, no guess work at all. Then move to the other types of questions.

How best to deal with a difficult paper?
Well if the level of the paper is difficult, then best to become a scavenger hunting for the easiest possible question and getting over with it first, and then peacefully working out the difficult questions. But make sure that you can differentiate between the difficult that are doable and the one which are not, so use your time judicially and do not exceed the time that you have stipulated for each section.
