Bank of Maharashtra PGDBF - Notification FAQs (PO)

Dear Readers,

As you all know that Bank of Maharashtra has released the notification for the recruitment of Probationary Officers.

When will be the exam conducted?
The Date will be announced later by Bank of Maharashtra

When will the result be declared?
The dates will be announced later by Bank of Maharashtra and the same will be notified once its get released.

How many vacancies are there?
The number of vacancies are 500 for Probationary Officer. Click on the below image to check the complete break up of vacancies.

Will there be any interview after the written result?
Candidates qualifying in the online test will be shortlisted and called for Personal Interview / Group Discussion subject to the number of intake in each category.

What will be the procedure after the Interview/ Group Discussion?
After Group Discussions/Personal Interview, shortlisted candidates in order of merit in written test and Personal Interview will have to undertake PGDBF in Banking from Bank Empanelled Institute at their own expenses for 12 months, of which 3 months INTERNSHIP in Bank branches with a monthly stipend of Rs.20000/- during internship. 

Will the exam conducted online or offline (OMR Based)?
On-line test will be conducted through IBPS/ or any other examiner decided by the Bank and the mode of test will be decided by the Bank.

What is the age criteria to apply in this common written exam?
Minimum: 18 years         Maximum: 28 years
i.e. A candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.07.1988 and not later than 01.07.1998 (both days inclusive)

What is the educational qualification required for various posts in this recruitment process?
Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

I have given my final year graduation exams but the result has not been declared yet. Can I apply?
Candidates who are awaiting their results of the qualifying examination OR who have not passed the qualifying examination on or before 01.07.2016 are not eligible.
In case the result of a particular examination is posted on the website of the University / Institute and web based certificate is issued then proper document / certificate in original issued and signed by the appropriate authority of the University / Institute indicating the date of passing properly mentioned thereon will be reckoned for verification and further process.

What is the application Fee?
Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates. 
Rs. 600 /- for all others 

When will the registration start?
Online registration will start from 12.08.2016 and will end on 06.09.2016

I have scored 55% in Graduation. Am I eligible to sit for the exam?
Yes, you can apply as there is no percentage criterion. You just need to be a graduate.

How to calculate the Percentage?
The percentage marks shall be arrived at by dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects in all semester(s)/year(s) by aggregate maximum marks in all the subjects irrespective of honours / optional / additional optional subject, if any. This will be applicable for those Universities also where Class / Grade is decided on basis of Honours marks only. The fraction of percentage so arrived will be ignored i.e. 59.99% will be treated as less than 60% and 54.99% will be treated as less than 55%.

What is the Structure of the exam?
The selection will be made on the basis of performance in Online Test, Personal Interview and/or GD. Merely satisfying the eligibility norms does not entitle a candidate to be called for written test & interview. Is the exam Bilingual?
The tests except the Test of English Language will be available bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi.

What is the cut-off for being recruited?
There is no fixed cutoff for BOM Probationary Officer. It depends on the performance of the candidates each year. Your final score is calculated based on your performance in the written test and the interview.

Is there a sectional cut-off in the exam?
The candidates shall be required to qualify in each objective test as per cut-off marks determined on the basis of Group Performance in each test.

Is there a criterion for negative marking?
There will be negative marks for the wrong answers in the Objective Tests.

What will be the process after exam?
The candidate selected will be admitted into the Training Institute for undergoing required 1 year training programme including 3 months internship. After successful completion of the training programme the candidates will be awarded the POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN BANKING & FINANCE from the Institute. Only those candidates who complete the training successfully shall be handed over appointment letters from the Bank and accordingly will be absorbed in the Bank as Probationary Officers in JMG Scale-I and can be posted anywhere in India as per Banks discretion.

Is there any programme fees for this course?
The fees for this course of PGDBF in Banking from Empanelled Institute will be approximately Rs. 3.14 to Rs.3.50 lakh plus applicable taxes to be borne by the candidates.
Once the course opted, the fee has to be paid in lumpsum to the bank from their own source or from loan option. If the candidate leave the course and bank, the course expenses for the entire period will have to be borne by the candidate. No option for withdrawal from the course or refund of fee even if the loan is disbursed in installments.
