National Judicial Appointments Commission

Supreme Court is the guardian of Indian constitution and  it is the highest authority which interpret the law of Indian parliament. But what would happen when its own functionary became a matter of concern?.Appointment of judges came in scanner with the allegation of corruption and favoritism . A 20-year-old collegium system were used for the appointment of judges by a panel comprising five senior most judges of the Supreme Court and high courts, with the power to confirm appointments despite resistance (if any) from the government. So in order to bring transparency, the government of india introduce a new system known as The National Judicial Appointments Commission Bill, 2014 in the Lok Sabha by the Minister of Law and Justice, Mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad. The National Judicial Appointments Commission (NJAC) is a constitutional body proposed to replace the present Collegium system of appointing judges.
