What is a Bank PO or a Bank Probationary Officer:

Bank PO is managerial level post offered in various PSU Banks in India. The full form of PO is Probationary Officer. Bank PO is a entry level managerial bank job.

Why is it called a Probationary Officer:

Generally PSU Banks given 1-2 years, on-the-job, training when they hire personnel at entry level. This training it is multifunction training and it covers training on all aspects of banking functions including - Credit, Loans, Operations, Investments, Forex &  Equity etc. So, during this training period, banks give this Probationary Officer designation.

What is the designation given after the completion of probation period:

Generally banks give Assistant Manager (AM) or Deputy Manager (DM) designation after the completion of probation period.

Can banks fire me within probation period or as a probationary officer:

No. For banks it is just a training period. If training is not completed within time, generally banks give more time (extended) to clear the probation.

What is the salary of Bank PO:

Salary of Bank PO (or Probationary Officer) is in the range of 25,000-35,000 which depends from Bank to Bank and location of posting. The highest salary is being offered by SBI and salary of a SBI PO is generally between Rs.35,000-Rs.60,000 depending from city to city.

Minimum marks is 60% aggregate for gen and sc st it's 55% whether you have got back or not,that doesn't matter

percentage don't require for IBPS exam.... percentage considerd in SBI ..... and whether you got back or not it doesn't matter .

Percentage is not considered in SBI atleast..I am currently in SBI as a PO. :-)

It doesn't matter whether you've cleared your graduation in 3 years or 4 years.
The thing is that you should be a graduate and should be in that age group.
That is mostly 21-30years for general category. And it varies sometimes depending on the banks.
As in for Axis bank the age of candidate must not exceed 25.

Sir I complete my degree in 5 years,with 70 % .Is it a problem for appearing in bank exams?

Hi guys, I have a query on eligibility...Bank PO or Clerk expects graduation as qualification. If one has passed B.A English without 12th or HSC, are they eligible for PO or Clerk ?
