The probation period continues for 2 years after which the designation of AM or DM is offered to the PO.

Bank PO Salary

The basic pay of a Bank PO is Rs. 23,700/- Apart from that, a lot of allowances such as DA, Transport Allowance, HRA, CCA etc. The Gross Salary thus amounts to Rs. 38,703/- for a probationary officer. IPPB has conducted its recruitment for the first time in 2016-17 and it offers a pay scale of 23,700 - 42,020 Rs. The officers are also entitled to other terminal benefits as per the policy defined by the banks.

Bank PO Recruitment

IBPS and SBI are two major bodies that conduct PO exams every year. The recruitment process for both these exams is quite similar. The recruitment process happens in 3 phases: Preliminary Test, Mains Exam and the Interview Process. The preliminary test is an online objective test and mains test has two parts- an online objective test and an online descriptive writing test. A basic cut-off is decided for each phase of the exam to screen out the candidates. A candidate is required to qualify all these stages.

Both the objective tests have separate cut off for each individual section and a complete cut off for the examination and a candidate is required to meet these cut offs to pass on to next phase of recruitment. The marks obtained in Preliminary exam has no role in the merit list, only the marks of Phase-II of Mains exam and marks obtained in the interview process and accounted for while the making of the merit list. The Descriptive test in most of the Bank PO recruitment is qualifying in nature. Apart from the merit lists banks also release a reserve list of candidates who were left with point blank margin. Candidates are selected from reserve list to fill up further vacant posts as decided by the bank. After getting through all the phases the candidate goes through document verification process and medical test, as these are the last procedures of Bank PO recruitment.

An eligible candidate after qualifying all the stages of Recruitment Process is thus appointed to the post of Probationary Officer in a Public Sector Bank.

Unknown said...

It doesn't matter whether you've cleared your graduation in 3 years or 4 years.
The thing is that you should be a graduate and should be in that age group.
That is mostly 21-30years for general category. And it varies sometimes depending on the banks.
As in for Axis bank the age of candidate must not exceed 25.
