CTET - Central Teacher Eligibility Test is conducted to recruit candidates for Teaching Profile in central government schools across the country. CTET 2017 Notification is going to published  by Central Board of Secondary Education soon. All the interested candidates will be required to fill the CTET Application Form 2017 which is made available on the official site.

CTET Exam gives candidates a chance to join central Government Schools such as NVS/KVS/Tibetan Schools etc. as a teacher. States which do not conduct TET Exam select candidates on the basis of CTET Examination.

As per recent updates around the exam, CTET will be held online from this year. Till last year, the exam was conducted in the traditional pen-paper mode. Apart from the change of mode of conduct, major changes are expected in the CTET exam pattern and selection process. Though, no official notification has been released by CBSE.

CTET 2017 Notification

The official notification for CTET 2017 is expected to be rolled out in the month of September/ October 2017. CTET Application Form 2017

CTET Online Form 2017 will be made available once the official notification is published. The online application form for CTET 2017 will be most likely available in October. Candidates looking forward to appear for CTET will be required to fill the online form and get themselves registered. CTET 2017 Application Fee

Candidates can apply for CTET 2017 Exam by visiting the official website of CTET, once the notification is out. A candidate belonging to either General or OBC category is required to pay Rs. 600/- (if applying for either Paper I or Paper II) and Rs. 1000/- (if applying for both the papers). The same amount is reduced to Rs. 300/- (if applying for either Paper I or Paper II) and Rs. 500/- (if applying for both the papers) for candidates belonging to SC/ST category.

CTET 2017 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility Criteria varies for selection of  candidates to the post of Teacher for Classes I-V and for Classes VI-VIII. Let’s have a look at the Educational Qualifications Required by Candidates for both these sections:

Educational Qualification for Class I-IV Educational Qualification for Class VI-VIII
Should have completed class 12th with at least 50% marks or should have cleared or appeared in final year diploma of elementary education.
OR
Should have at least 50% in 12th or cleared or appearing in final year of diploma in elementary education as per the NCTE Regulations 2002.
OR
Secured at least 50% in 12th + appearing or appeared for 4 year graduate degree
OR
Secured at least 50% in 12th + cleared or appearing in final year exam of diploma of education (2 years).
OR
Bachelor's Degree + cleared/appearing in final year of elementary education
Graduation degree + passed or appearing in final year exam of (2 year) diploma elementary education
OR
Graduation degree with 50% at least + passed or appearing in the final year of bachelor's of education
OR
Graduation with 40% + cleared or appearing in final exam of bachelor's of education according to NCTE education
OR1
2th class with 50% + cleared or appearing in final year exam of A.Ed/B.sc.Ed/B.A.EdORGraduation degree with 50% + cleared or appearing in 1 year B.ed program

CTET Exam Pattern 2017


CTET 2017 Exam will be conducted in two phases:

  • Paper I 
  • Paper II

Paper I is conducted for candidates who want to become teacher for Class I to V and Paper II is for candidates who aspire to become teacher for Class VI to VIII. Candidates also have the choice to apply for both Paper I and Paper II. Questions asked in Paper I and Paper II are Objective-Multiple Choice Questions. Paper is bilingual, i.e. in both English and Hindi. A candidate is required to score minimum 60% to qualify CTET. One important thing that aspirants must note is that the score of CTET is valid for 7 years.

CTET Syllabus 2017

CTET Syllabus is very lengthy. It revolves mainly around Child Development & Pedagogy and concept of education in schools. Language is one section that aspirants need to have good command on to clear CTET 2017 exam. Apart from that Mathematics, Science/Environmental Science are also important sections that a candidate needs to prepare to crack CTET 2017.


CTET Admit Card 2017 

The admit card/call letter for CTET 2017 will be made available on the official website after the online application process is concluded. Candidates are supposed to download the CTET 2017 admit card from the official website. Admit Card will be released separately for candidates applying for Paper I, Paper II or for both Paper I and Paper II. CTET Result 2017 

The announcement of CTET result will be done by CBSE after the examination of CTET is concluded.

CTET 2017 Cut-Off

The candidates appearing for CTET will be issued certificates for Marks. Those who will secure 60% (General) and above marks will be issued Eligibility Certificate. CTET 2017 cut offs will be published after the conduct of the exam.
