Hello, Greetings!! SBI PO 2017 will commence in the month of APRIL 2017. In order to help and guide all of you, we’re going to post VOCABULARY BASED ON THE HINDU NEWSPAPER. In all the competitive exams, Vocabulary questions are asked from newspapers. 

1.Insipid
Meaning: lacking flavour; weak or tasteless.
Synonym: tasteless, flavourless, unflavoured
Antonym : interesting, imaginative, tasty
Sentence: The soup was rather insipid.



2.Crescendo: 
Meaning: a gradual increase in loudness in a piece of music.
Synonym:escalation, upsurge,apex
Usage:”each time the key changes, there is a gradual crescendo”

3.Innate
Meaning: existing from the time a person or animal is born, existing as part of the basic nature of something
Synonym: inborn, natural, inbred, congenital
Antonym : acquired

5.Rambunctious
Meaning: uncontrolled in a way that is playful or full of energy
Synonym: hell-raising, knockabout, boisterous
Antonym : noiseless, peaceful, placid, quiet, restrained, serene,

6.Covetous
Meaning: having or showing a great desire to possess something belonging to someone else.
Synonym: grasping, greedy, rapacious, insatiable
Usage:”she fingered the linen with covetous hands”

7.Prestige
Meaning: widespread respect and admiration felt for someone or something on the basis of a perception of their achievements or quality.
Synonym: status, standing, stature,
Antonym: Disrespect, humility
Sentence:”the firm has recently gained considerable prestige”

8.Cenotaph
Meaning: a monument to someone buried elsewhere, especially one commemorating people who died in a war

9.Tranquil 
Meaning: free from disturbance; calm.
Synonym: peaceful, restful,

10.Trivial
Meaning: of little value or importance.
Synonym: unimportant, insignificant
Usage: huge fines were imposed for trivial offences”
