What Is The Importance Of English Section In SBI Clerk 2018 Examination



Dear students, now that the SBI Clerk Prelims Exam has already been rescheduled, the dates being 23rd, 24th and 30th of June, you would have already started to prepare the ground for the same. The major changes in the pattern of SBI Clerk Examination that were observed this year were the introduction of section timing for the Prelims exams too and elimination of sectional cut off. 

Earlier students used to spend a maximum of 15 minutes on the English Section and the time they would save this way was spent on solving the complex questions of Reasoning Ability and Quantitative Aptitude Sections that are supposed to be more time-consuming. But now, to the aspirants' dismay, this strategy won't be working anymore as they are all bound to spend 20 minutes on each of the three section. Thus, 20 minutes out of the total 60 minutes have to be given solely to English Section as per the SBI Notification. But then, there is a silver lining in every dark cloud, isn't it? So, why look at the dark side of something and ignore to look at the bright side of it instead? This may help you score better marks in English Section as you will enough of time to deeply analyze the questions and thus attempting the questions with a higher percentage of accuracy.

You used to plan a strategy as per the conventional pattern of examination and now you have to plan a different strategy for a slightly changed pattern of examination, after all, there is always a way out.   • The Reading comprehension too should be attempted in a way that you attempt questions based on vocab and phrases first and then the questions that need a deep penetration through the paragraphs.
  • The important topics for cloze test are subject-verb agreement, preposition, and verbs. These topics may help you some other questions too that will be based on grammar. So make sure that you have these topics at your fingertips when you are to attempt the examination.
