Success Story Of Amit Kumar | SBI PO – 02 |_2.1

Hello Friends,

My name is Amit Kumar! I
started preparing for govt job exams from July 2017! I have made it to SBI PO (2018) final list in my first attempt itself! Also an important thing which I would like to mention here is that be “FEARLESS”! Be it fear of clearing sectional cut offs (specially English), fear of failure etc etc!  If FEAR is there, you cannot give your 100%!

So here is my post of how I made it to SBI PO 2018 final list! Please bear with me as this is going to be a long post! Read it till the end ! It will definitely be of some help to you all!
First of all, when I started my preparation in 2017 , I was in doubt whether I should continue or not because I was very “IMPATIENT “and after 2 consecutive failures (RRB PO and RRB clerk pre 2017), I started thinking like this! But once again I said to myself that I can do it, starting again and focused more on weak areas along with my strengths!
Here is a list of exams I gave since I started preparing:-

  • RRB PO + CLERK PRE 2017 – OUT
  • IBPS PO PRE 2017 – IN (OUT IN MAINS)
  • OICL AO PRE 2017 – OUT
  • IBPS CLERK 2017 – OUT (73.75, CUT OFF FOR UP -76.25)
  • SYNDICATE BANK PGDBF 2018 + CANARA BANK PGDBF 2018 – CLEARED WRITTEN, APPEARED FOR INTERVIEW ( OUT IN FINAL LIST)
  • SBI JAS PRE 2018 – IN (OUT IN MAINS)
  • SBI PO PRE 2018 – IN (FINALLY SELECTED IN FINAL LIST)
  • RRB PO PRE 2018 – IN ( OUT IN MAINS )
  • RRB CLERK PRE 2018 – OUT
  • BOB PO PGDBF 2018 – OUT
  •  NIACL ASSISTANT PRE 2018 – IN
  • NIACL ASSISTANT MAINS 2018 – IN
  • IBPS PO PRE 2018 – IN

SO you all can see that in some exams I got it right but in some I failed to get through! But does that mean I am “WORTHLESS”?? definitely not! You just need to move on! Be strong! Yes I agree it feels bad cause we all are humans anyway and it’s perfectly OK! But take positives out of it, work harder next time, focus on weak areas!!
HOW TO UTILISE MOCK TESTS -:
In mocks, honestly, I never bothered about my marks at all! I followed mock tests of Adda247 (sectional tests + mocks) and from 1 more source !! Better keep limited sources or else you might get confused! Their is nothing like best or worst! These sources I followed as per my choice! You can follow other sources too!
In mocks, if I am weak in logical reasoning, (statement and assumptions type questions), I would attempt them first, for English, attempted RCs first and for Quants attempted DI first! These were my weak areas! So you can follow the same with your own weak points! Also on daily basis, I used to give Adda247 sectional tests without fail! In sectional tests, I make sure that I attempted my strong areas first! This way you can easily work simultaneously on strong as well as weak areas!
For GA ,Better start preparing early! It is so vast that if you wait for prelims result and then start doing it,  them you will not be able to cover it and as you all are aware that this particular section is GAME CHANGER nowadays,  so you might be left behind in such tough competitive times!
For those who struggle in English section, this may seem difficult to maintain in long run but yes you need to develop a reading habit! Read whatever you feel you can, be it an RC from mocks or an editorial article! Just make sure, when you read it, you get the idea of what’s going on in the passage! If you didn’t get it, read it again and again until you get it! This way, you will develop logic thinking, it will help you in finding grammatical correct sentence, errors, fillers and cloze tests and also in logical questions (statements and assumptions type questions)
That’s it from my end! I think I have covered everything! Finally, congratulations to all those who cleared IBPS PO prelims! Work hard and smart! Devise your own strategy and stick to it no matter what! I also cleared IBPS PO pre but will not give mains! Thank you for reading such long post.
Thanks Amit for sharing your Success Story with us. Adda247 wishes you a good luck for the bright future ahead.
