Reasoning Ability (Easy-Moderate)

The Reasoning Ability section in LIC AAO main 2019 consisted of 30 questions of 3 marks each. Minimum qualifying marks in Reasoning Ability section is 45. There were 3 sets of Puzzles & Seating Arrangement. Overall the level of reasoning section was Easy-Moderate. Types of puzzles asked:

  • Circular Puzzle (8 people (family), all were facing inside, candidates needed to calculate blood relation)
  • Parallel Seating Arrangement (5 people each side based on colour)
  • Day Based Puzzle (based on age & name)

Data Analysis & Interpretation (Moderate)

The Data Analysis & Interpretation section in LIC AAO main 2019 consisted of 30 questions of 3 marks each. Minimum qualifying marks in Data Analysis & Interpretation section is 45. There were 3 sets of Data Interpretation questions. Types of DIs asked:

  • Missing DI ( college students, Boys & Girls, 8th-12th class)
  • Tabular DI (number of students studying in 6 colleges)
  • Caselet DI (Based on Day, Monday Tuesday, Wednesday. Number of male/female who visited different store)

The missing DI was of moderate level but students faced some challenges in Caselet as well as Tabular DI.

This section had 30 questions of 2 marks each. Most of the questions in this section were asked from contemporary events of national & international events from the months of April-June 2019. As per the review shared by students who appeared for this exam, there were only a few questions from static and insurance awareness. Some of the questions asked are as follows:

Insurance and Financial Market Awareness (Difficult)
Insurance & Financial Market Awareness section had been introduced for the first time by the LIC. This section had 30 questions of 2 marks each. 3-4 questions were based on numericalsSome of the questions asked are as follows:

  • PE Ratio.
  • Numerical related to Income Tax & PF account.
  • Re-insurance companies.
  • CSR Full Form.


English Language (Letter writing & Essay)

This section was of 25 marks with a time limit of 30 minutes. Minimum qualifying is 10.3 letters & 3 essays were asked. Candidates were required to attempt any 1 out of 3 given choices. English Language test was of qualifying nature and the marks in English Language were not be counted for ranking.

Letter Writing (150 words)

  • Write a letter to your younger friend who recently got a job telling him the importance of retirement pension.
  • Write a letter to a insurance firm requesting them to change residential address.
  • Write a letter to your boss describing about the value of group insurance.

Essay Writing  (200 words)

  • Benefits of Travel Insurance.
  • What is Financial Security? Explain the elements of financial security.
  • Insurance or Mutual Fund! Which one do you prefer for investment.
