As we, all know that our Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on a visit to five-nation from 4th June to 9th June. He started his visit by visiting Afghanistan, followed by Qatar, Switzerland, The US and ended with Mexico. During the visits, he held high-level meetings with Afghan President- Ashraf Ghani, Amir of Qatar- Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, President of Swiss federation- Johann Schneider-Ammann, US President- Barack Obama and Mexican President- Enrique Pena Nieto on a wide range of bilateral issues and matters of regional and global concern.
So it becomes very important to know the facts and figure of these visits not only in terms of exams but also as an Indian. We should know about the happening related to our country. So guys let’s know more about it.
1. Afghanistan visit :-
This was his 2nd trip to Afghanistan in the last six months. During his visit to the nation, he has inaugurated the Afghanistan-India Friendship Dam along with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani. The dam was earlier called as the Salma Dam, in Herat province which highlights India’s continued commitment to Afghanistan’s reconstruction and development. The project built by India at a cost 1700 crore rupees will irrigate 75 thousand hectares of land, generate 42-megawatt power and also supply drinking water to 620 villages. Afghan President Mr. Ghani conferred the highest civilian honour of Afghanistan, the Amir Amanullah Khan Award on Narendra Modi.
