Classification of Bank Holidays
Holidays under Negotiable Instrument Act: In the above table, the days falling under the Negotiable Instruments Acts 1881 are as such 26 January, 10 March, 25 March, 1 May, 22 August, 14 November, 3 December, and 19 December. On these days, there won’t be any due date, if any due date falls it would be shifted to the next day of holiday
Holidays under Negotiable Instrument Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement: And the days 10 April, 14 April, 25 May, 15 August, 2 October, and 25 December comes under Holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement Holiday and no RTGs would be applicable on these days.
Annual Bank Closing Day: On 1st April, the RBI had announced closing of bank in the lieu of annual bank closing day. The banks shall remain unfunctioning during this day.
