1. Indian Cricket Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been declared as the Goodwill Ambassador of Nepali Cricket . 
2. Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh left on a week-long visit to Mexico and Brazil today to participate in the crucial G-20 Summit in the Pacific resort of Los Cabos, Mexico and will also attend the Rio + 20 conferences on Sustainable development in Rio-de-Zanerio, Brazil.
3. Reserve Bank of India today directed state and central co-operative banks to stop levying penalty on pre-payment of home loans on floating interest rates with immediate effect.
4. Polling in Egypt started today to elect its new President. More than 50 million voters will cast their votes across 13000 polling stations over the next two days. 
5. All India Tennis Association has picked Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi for the men’s doubles event of the London Olympics. 
NOTE:- It rejected Mahesh Bhupati’s insistence on being paired with Rohan bopanna in the mega- event next month.
6. Ministry of Commerce today welcomed the decision of the World Trade Organization to rule in China’s favor over duties China imposed on U.S. steel exports. 
NOTE:- China imposed countervailing and anti-dumping duties in April 2010 on U.S. steel products. 
7. Japan announced to restart the 2 nuclear reactors which will go back online since all 50 nuclear reactors were shut down for routine maintenance after the meltdown at the Fukushima power plant, which was triggered by a massive earthquake and tsunami.
8. A special court in Bangladesh led by Brigadier General Abu Sayeed Khan today sentenced 611 jawans for their involvement in the mutiny at Pilkhana headquarters in February 2009. The soldiers belonged to the 13th Battalion of Bangladesh Rifles, now been renamed as Border Guard Bangladesh. 
A total of 73 people, including 57 army officers, were killed during the mutiny.
9. Saina Nehwal has entered the Indonesian Super Series women’s single badminton final by defeating Korea’s Jee Hyun Sung.
10. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today urged the Prime Minister to set up an expert committee to consider the state’s long pending demand for a special category status.
11. China today launched its latest manned space mission, whose crew includes its first female astronaut, Liu Yang. The Shenzhou-9 capsule rode to orbit atop a Long March rocket from the Jiuquan spaceport on the edge of the Gobi desert at 6.15 p.m. local time.
