1. According to data released by Ministry of Statistics of India, Bihar emerged as the state with highest economic growth rate in the country  with an impressive 13.1 per cent growth followed Delhi and Puducherry. Chattisgarh and Goa were the other two states in the list of top five states.
2. According to the data released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), India’s foreign exchange reserve plummeted by 1.74 billion dollar.
3. Egyptian court awarded former President Hosni Mubarak with life imprisonment today. 
4. Parliamentary panel on Goods and Services tax (GST) Chaired by Sushil Kumar Modi  is expected to submit its final report before the Monsoon Session of Parliament. 
5. The centenary celebrations of Indian Science Congress Associations held in Kolkata today. NOTE:- Prime Minister Manmohan Singh inaugrating the function said that a new Science and Technology policy may be in place within a year to enhance capacity building for meaningful development in a decentralised manner.

7. Synthetic drugs worth Rs. 200 crore seized in Punjab.
8. Scientists at the Tomato Genome Consortium (TGC) successfully sequenced the genomes of tomato. 
NOTE:- This will  increase the vegetable’s production worldwide and decrease its price. 
9.  Gold today breached the Rs 30,000/10gm mark for the first time in the history.
10. The world’s second-largest PC-maker HP unveiled its First Net-Zero Energy Data Centre that promises to significantly reduce data centre power costs and energy requirements.
