Name- Gaurav Shyamsunder Pareek
Exam- IBPS PO
Category- Person with Disability (Hearing Impaired) (Gen-HI)
Profession- Asst. Accountant and Admin Clerk
Place and Time- Bank of Maharashtra, Opp. Bombay Stock Exchange, Fort, Mumbai
Panel- II

 Blocked nose since morning, have been inhaling vicks all the way from home to Fort, Mumbai…

I reached the place, but never been to that part of Fort before… An Eye candy for bank aspirants, Banks everywhere, every corner, every turn… One whole building for Bank of India, and State Bank of India suggesting them to be the Main Branch…

I reached Bank of Maharashtra, filled in the entrance register, went to 6th floor and was asked to wait; they don’t have waiting rooms so I was waiting at the place where they work… I was sitting where they work… It was a nice feeling because I am a bank aspirant and also from some of the windows you can see the ships, yeah SHIPS… Good heaven…

I said Good Morning everyone… 4 Male and 1 Female Panel Members…

F- Tell us about yourself…

G- My name is Gaurav Pareek and I stay with my dad, mom and younger brother, my dad is into Diamond Assortment. I Graduated from K.C. College, Bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance with 71% aggregate score…After my graduation, I started working for Mafatlal club as admin clerk and along with that I have been preparing for bank exams… Other than that I have interests in Dance, drama and watching movies…

(Long pause, no facial expressions by any one of them)

M2- Who all are there in your family?

G- (Answered the same I answered above)

M1- Why Banking?

G- After my SYJC, I was very much interested in Economics and Banking, about how the process of circulation of money is carried out by RBI…

(Long pause)

M3- Different types of Banks?

G- Commercial Banks include 19 nationalized banks and SBI and its associates, there are co-operative banks, foreign banks, all of them classified as either public or private sector… And yeah regional rural banks…

M3- (Kind of not satisfied by my answer)

M4- Do you read newspaper?

G- Yes sir…

M4- Tell me some headlines…

G- Sean Abbot is going to be included in the IPL auction, on whose bouncer led to the demise of Phillip Hughes…

M4- … 

G- Kiran Bedi is going to be a candidate of Delhi CM opposing Arvind Kejrival, they were going to have a debate but BJP refused…

M4- Other Banking news?

G- (After half second of thinking) United Bank of India decided to give away 5 ATM transactions for free, even when an RBI guideline shows 3 free transactions for metro cities… (Little old but gold, thank god this came to my mind)

(Finally a sign of positivity and micro smile in all of them)

M4- (nodding his head) OK thank you… You can go…

Tips-

  • Be confident, their facial expression is going to confuse you a lot (They were all either angry or frustrated in during my interview).
  • Keep talking, if they don’t speak anything.. (I guess)
  • Be truthful, your answers should be correct.
  • Smile (Even when they aren’t).
