Bank PO Notification

Bank PO Notification is released by the respective banks. As of now, IBPS has released the official notification of IBPS PO 2019. Bank update about the vacancies and notification on their official sites. Once the notification is released for the particular bank, aspirants will be able to apply for the post of the probationary officer before the closing dates of registration as prescribed in the official notification.

Bank PO Exam Date

Only after the release of the official notification, one can get to know about the exam dates. IBPS used to declare the tentative dates for the various posts including PO in the form of IBPS Calendar. Tentative dates for IBPS PO are 12th, 13th, 19th and 20th of October. If in case IBPS or any other recruiting body make changes in the exam dates, students then are notified by the official news from the organization on their official site only.

Bank PO Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for both IBPS PO, SBI PO, and other Probationary Officers are the same. A candidate is required to fulfill the basic two requirements to be eligible for these exams. A candidate is required to fulfill the required age limit for the exam, i.e. a candidate is required to be of minimum 20 years of age before applying for IBPS PO or SBI PO exam. In addition to that, the minimum educational qualification required for SBI PO and IBPS PO is that of a graduate in any discipline from a recognized university. Bank PO Job Profile

After the probation period, selected candidates are posted as an assistant manager or deputy manager as per the bank requirement. The probation period continues for 2 years after which the designation of AM or DM is offered to the PO. The work of PO may include various types of work. It includes the passing of loans for a different purpose and many other things.

Bank PO selection procedure

IBPS and SBI are two major bodies that conduct PO exams every year. The recruitment process for both these exams is quite similar. Bank PO is a three-tier process exam which includes:
  • Preliminary phase
  • Main exam (objective + Descriptive)
  • GD/Interview round
One has to qualify all the three phases to be finally selected in the merit list. Merit list is drawn on the basis of the marks obtained in main and interview round.

Bank PO Salary


  • According to the official notification, the basic pay of a Bank PO is Rs. 23,700/- 
  • Apart from that, a lot of allowances such as DA, Transport Allowance, HRA, CCA, etc. 
  • The Gross Salary thus amounts to Rs. 38,703/- for a probationary officer in hand or more. Among all banks, SBI and IPPB offer the maximum salary and benefits as compared to other banks. 
  • IPPB Conducted the exam in the year 2016-2017 for the first time with a starting basic pay of 23,700 - 42,020 Rs. 
  • All the officers are entitled to get the other benefits besides salary as specified by the banks.

Phase – II: Bank PO Main Examination 2019


Main Examination consists of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 25 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests were conducted online.

Bank PO Admit Card

The admit card for the post of Bank PO is released by the bank at least 15 days before the commencement of the exam. Once the Admit card from the various banks or organizing body is released, we will update the links.

Bank PO Preparation

To prepare effectively for the Bank PO exam, it is really necessary for a candidate to excel in the subjects being asked in the Preliminary and Mains exam. Bank PO Result

Result of bank PO is released after the completion of the exam. The result of the preliminary phase is released after 7-10 of the exam. It may take the time of a month or two, to release the final result or the merit list of the candidates. Merit list is drawn on the basis of the marks scored in the main and the interview round. Fist phase i.e preliminary examination is qualifying in nature.

Bank PO Cut Off


Cut off is the deciding factor for a candidate to start their career in the banking sector. Cut off are decided by the banks itself. It is the minimum qualifying marks that one needs to obtain to appear for the next phase or for the final selection. Marks scored in the preliminary phase are considered as qualifying to appear in the main exam.

  8. It doesn't matter whether you've cleared your graduation in 3 years or 4 years.
    The thing is that you should be a graduate and should be in that age group.
    That is mostly 21-30years for general category. And it varies sometimes depending on the banks.
    As in for Axis bank the age of candidate must not exceed 25.
