Quantitative Aptitude Questions for IBPS Exam

Today we have been including Arithmetic and Quadratic Equations. This is the Quantitative Aptitude Questions and you should try to do it within 14-15 Minutes. If you fail to complete it in the stipulated time, then try again with full force. These quantitative aptitude questions are very important from exam point of view like IBPS RRB Exam, IBPS PO and IBPS Clerk.

Q1. How many different letter arrangements can be made from the letter of the word EXTRA in such a way that the vowels are always together?
(a) 48
(b) 60
(c) 40
(d) 30

No. of vowels in the given word = 2(E, A)
∴ Required no. of ways = 4! × 2!
= 48

Q2. In how many ways can a committee of 5 be made out 6 men and 4 women containing atleast one woman?
(a) 246
(b) 222
(c) 186
(d) 286
(e) None of these

6 men, 4W
Required no. of ways 
= (4M & 1W) or (3M & 2W) or (2M & 3W) or (1M & 4W)
= 6C4 × 4C1 + 6C3 × 4C2 + 6C2 ×4C3 + 6C1 × 4C4
= 60 + 20 ×6 + 15 ×4 + 6
= 246

Q3. Everybody in a room shakes hands with every else. If total number of hand-shaken is 66, then number of persons in the room is

Total no. of  hand shakes = n_(c_2 )=66

Q4. Two dice are thrown simultaneously. The probability of obtaining a total score of seven is

Favourable conditions are (6, 1), (5, 2), (4, 3), (3, 4), (2, 5), (1, 6)
Total possible cases are 6 × 6 = 36
∴ Required probability=(Favourable cases)/(Total possible cases)

  2. Sir in the 15 no. question area of 4 walls i have read from book 2(lb+bh+lh)... but in the answer it is only 2(bh+lh).... is it right... plz explain

  3. lb means floor and ceiling. Watch properly the room you are sitting. Use common sense before studying formula.
