Reasoning Ability is an onerous section. With the increasing complexity of questions, it becomes hard for one to give it the cold shoulder. Today is the Day 50 of the 60 Days SBI Clerk Prelims Study Plan. The only way to make the grade in this particular section in the forthcoming banking exams is to practice continuously with all your heart and soul. And, to let you practice with the best of the latest pattern questions, here is the Adda247 Reasoning Quiz based on the study plan and the exact same pattern of questions that are being asked in the exams.
Directions (1-5): In each question below are given some statements followed by some conclusions. You have to take the given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance with commonly known facts. Read all the conclusions and then decide which of the given conclusions logically follows from the given statements, disregarding commonly known facts.

Q1. Statements:
Some wildlife are reserve.
All lands are forest.
Some reserve are not forest.
Conclusions:
I. All land can never be reserve.
II. Some reserve are forest.
(a) Only I follows
(b) Both I and II follow
(c) Only II follows
(d) None follows
(e) None of these

For I- From the venn diagram we are sure that some reserve are not land but we can’t say that all land can never be reserve. “Can never be” always considered as definite case.
For II- From the venn diagram it is clear that some part of reserve is not forest but we can’t not conclude that some part of reserve is also a part of forest.

Q2. Statements:
Some pink are not yellow.
All orange are pink.
Some green are yellow.
Conclusions:
I. All oranges are green.
II. Some pink are not orange is a possibility.
(a) Only I follows
(b) Both I and II follow
(c) Only II follows
(d) Either I or II follows
(e) None follows

For I- We can see in the venn diagram that there is no direct relation between orange and green so we can’t be conclude that all orange are green.
For II- From the venn diagram we conclude that some pink is definitely orange but we can’t say that some pink are not orange, but this conclusion will be true as it is a case of  possibility.

Q3. Statements:
All commander are professor.
No professor is social.
Some professor are not civilians.
Conclusions:
I. All commander are civilian is a possibility.
II. Some civilians are not social.
(a) Only II follows
(b) Both I and II follow
(c) Only I follows
(d) Either I or II follows
(e) None follows

For I- From the venn diagram we can consider that all commander are civilian in a case of possibility because there is no direct relation given between them.
For II- There is no direction relation given between social and civilian so we can’t conclude that Some civilians are not social.

Q4. Statements:
Some wires are tiles.
No marble are clay.
All tiles are marble.
Conclusions:
I. Some wires can never be clay.
II. All marbles are tiles is a possibility.
(a) Only I follows
(b) None follows
(c) Both I and II follow
(d) Only II follows
(e) None of these

For I- From the venn diagram it is clear that some part of wires are definitely not clay so we can say that all wires can never be a part of clay.
For II- We can say that some marbles are tiles but we can’t conclude that all marbles are tiles, when we consider this conclusion in a possibility then it will be true.

Q5. Statements:
Some hub are switch.
Some gateway are not switch.
Some router are hub.
Conclusions:
I. Some router are not switch.
II. All hub are switch is a possibility.
(a) Only II follows
(b) Both I and II follow
(c) None follows
(d) Either I or II follows
(e) None of these

For I- There is no direct relation between router and switch so we can’t consider that some router are not switch.
For II- In a definite case we can’t say that all hub are switch but in a case of possibility it will be true.

Directions (6-10): In each of the questions below are given some statements followed by some conclusions. You have to take the given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance from commonly known facts. Read all the conclusions and then decide which of the given conclusions logically follows from the given statements disregarding commonly known facts.

Direction (6-7):
Statements:
Some sky are banana.
All bananas are drop.
Some drops are limit.

II. Some drops are sky.
III. No limit is sky.
(a) Only I follows
(b) Only II follows
(c) Only I and II follow
(d) Only III follows
(e) None follows

For I- There is no direct relation in between limit and sky so we cannot say that all limit  can never be a part of sky.
For II- It is clear from the venn diagram that some drop are part of sky because some banana are sky and all banana are part of drop.
For III- There is no direct relation in between limit and sky so we cannot say that no limit is a part of sky.

Q7. Conclusions:
I. All limit are sky is a possibility.
II. Some drop are not limit.
III. All drop can never be limit.
(a) Only I follows
(b) Only II and III follow
(c) Only I and either II or III follow
(d) Only I and II follow
(e) None of these

For I- There is no direct relation between limit and sky but in case of possibility we can conclude that All limits are sky.
For II- From venn diagram it is clear that some drop are limit but we cannot conclude that some drop are not limit.
For III- From the venn diagram it is clear that some drop are a part of limit so we can’t conclude that all drop can never be limit.

For III- Some part of blue can’t be a part of yellow because all part of blue is not a part of yellow.

Q9. Conclusions:
I. No state is work.
II. All work is state is a possibility.
III. Some hard can never be picture.
(a) Only I follows
(b) Only II and III follows
(c) Only III follows
(d) Only III and I follow
(e) None of these

For I- From the venn diagram we can see that some work is state but we are not sure that no state is work.
For II- From the venn diagram we can conclude that all work can become a part of state, it is not a definite case but we can consider it true in a case of possibility.
For III- All part of hard is not a part of picture so we can conclude that Some hard can never be picture.

Q10. Conclusions:
I. All work can never be picture
II. Some hard are not work is a possibility
III. All states are hard
(a) Only I and II follow
(b) Only II follows
(c) Only II and either I or III follow

(e) None of these

For I- From the venn diagram we can not conclude that all disc are thread but in a case of possibility it will be true that all disc are thread
For II- Some part of figure is also a part of thread and no thread is knot so we can conclude that some figure are not knot.
