Hello Friends,
First of all, a huge round of applause to all who cracked PO/SO/Clerk. My parents use to say “Hard work always pay, so sooner or later one would taste the sweet of success”.

I read many success stories on Bankersadda, which motivated me a lot. Hope this story will also inspire you to put forward that extra effort which will sail you through all the obstacles.
I completed my B.E. in 2010. At that time I really didn’t knew about the banking examinations, so did what my other friends do i.e. go to Bangalore and search for a job. Fortunately, I was placed in an IT firm in off campus placement. I was very happy and decided that I will work in SAP but all my dreams shattered when I was allotted MAINFRAME. Really I was very disappointed at that time, but I accepted it as my fate and started working. I was never happy and always thought of quitting the job. So, finally I put down my paper after 2.5 years. Being from a middle class family it was a tough decision. Everybody thought that I was taking a wrong decision by quitting IT job but I had a gut feeling that I can do better than this. My Parents are very supportive; they are always abiding my side in whatever decisions I took in my life.
Then in 2013, I joined a reputed MBA college for a better career opportunity. I really studied hard trying to gain maximum knowledge as a result I secured good marks but I found that though companies were recruiting but their pay package was low of what I had expected. So, although I gave some interviews but in frustration I didn’t accept any offer. At that time I came to know about banking jobs because some of my friends were preparing for it.
Now in 2015 I was left with no job in hand which was really demotivating. Some friends suggested me to come to Bangalore again and either join my old company or look for some other organization but I was not ready to do so because I knew that overtime the same frustration will come up once again.
Then I decided to prepare for banking exam and joined a coaching institute in July 2015. I worked upon my strength (Quants) and on my weakness (GK). Meanwhile, I came across the BANKERSADDA site. I was really amazed with the ocean of knowledge and information here and in no time I became a huge fan of it, solving daily quizzes and reading capsules of GK and computers. In case of doubt I used to post here and some or other used to solve and provide the explanation. It really helped me a lot and friends I will suggest all the banking aspirants to please follow this website; it will definitely help you no matter what your knowledge level is. In starting I had problem of speed with accuracy, but over the period of time I worked upon it.
My first exam was IBPS PO V, while preparing I heard about ‘CARRER POWER ONLINE TEST SERIES’ and purchased it after getting some positive reviews about it and believe it or not friends, it was one of my best investments so far. I used to give 4 STs daily and worked on my mistakes afterwards. This practice improved my speed and accuracy and I managed to score 57.5 marks in prelims out of 62 questions attempted. This gave me a lot of confidence and I started working for Mains which consisted of GK (my weak point) and my mains paper was overall average because in reasoning I attempted only 19 questions, so there was a doubt on clearing mains.
But with god’s grace I cleared the mains. I was on cloud nine because with just 3.5 months of preparation I was able to clear IBPS V written exam where my friends were preparing from last 2 years. This boosted my confidence a lot.
In the meantime, while I cleared the all India level HPCL (Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited) exam for HR, because now I was good in Aptitude and my domain knowledge is also at par. I gave interview for it on Dec, 2015 where I was selected in interview round also and medical formalities was completed, the following day of the selected candidates in interview. I can’t explain my feelings at that time. Even my family members were amused as they thought that I cracked a PSU Navratna company. The final result of this came in December last week, where they selected only 4 out of 10 final candidates (in general) and kept others in waiting list. It was really a heart breaking for me because I was mentally prepared to join HPCL because of which I had left all my preparations. And again starting from scratch it was a big challenge for me. I cried like hell and another 1 week passed away. Now, the dates of PO interview and SO written exam were near and I again started preparing for it. But my interview preparation in PO was affected because of that incident and as a result it was not so good and I knew that I will not be able to make it in the final list with just 88.25 marks in mains.
Then I switched all my attention towards the SO preparation and secured 128.50 marks in written exam. My interview was also good and I was able to answer all the questions. At this point I was sure of making it into the SO final list, but at the back of my mind I was afraid of my previous experience in HPCL. So, I was praying to god day and night. And finally after many sleepless nights on April 1 the results were declared and I was selected as a SPECIALIST OFFICER (HR) in CENTRAL BANK OF INDIA. I was filled with emotions and all the decisions which I took in my life suddenly seemed correct.
So, friends it doesn’t matter what other people thinks, it’s your life and you are the one who can take the best decision for yourselves (of course your parents support is also required). In my case if I had not heard of my inner self then I would have been still working in some IT firm, but I took the risk and it paid off lately.
I know it is just a beginning and I have many exams in lined in coming months for which I have to keep my focus, so that I don’t get diverted from my path. I enjoyed for past couple of days, partied hard with my friends but now it’s time to again gear up for my future goals.
And remember one thing that just 1 success will suppress all your failures, so you have to thrive in a right direction and with a positive attitude towards it and there is an old saying in Hindi “JAHAN CHAH WAHAN RAH”.
Exams I attempted:
  • ONGC- Written not cleared
  • FCI- Written not cleared
  • RRB- Written not cleared
  • ATC- Written not cleared
  • UPSC_APFC- Written not cleared
  • IBPS PO- Prelims 56.75, Mains  88.25- Not in final list
  • HPCL (HR)- In waiting List
  • LIC AAO- Written not cleared
  • IBPS SO- Cleared with 128.50 marks and 66.20 overall, selected in final list

Last but not the least I will wind up from a saying of a famous actor “UNKO KABHI MAT BHULNA JO TAB TUMAHRE SAATH THE JAB TUM KUCH NHI THE, KYUNKI WAHI LOG HAMESA TUMSE SACH BOLENGE AUR TUMHARA SAATH DENGE”. So, thank you my parents and all my real and Virtual world friends who were there for me in the time of need.
