SUCCESS STORY-DON’T READ IT

SUCCESS STORY-DON'T READ IT |_2.1Subhasis Mohanty (RBI Assistant and RRB OS1)

Sorry I forgot to write the word “only” before “read”. I know you will read it. Negative catches more attention. If you will learn something from it, then that will be a good thing. If you read it as another success story and want to know how many hours I read, which books I followed, which section I attempted first, then I am sorry. Because you won’t find such stuffs from this article. Whatever worked for me, may not work for you. If I remember something reading just two times, you may need reading it for one time, two times, three times or may be more. So how many hours I studied is not a matter of concern.
If you are satisfied with your effort then that’s all you require. You need to stay motivated and think that someone is preparing when you are doing some less productive work and she will succeed and you may will be out of the race. Just think about it. Entertainment is good, but not more than necessary and it should be long lasting and productive. Enough of preaching, let me introduce myself.
My name is Subhasis Mohanty ($ubhasis).
From Bhubaneswar, Odisha. I am a silent reader of BankersAdda.
Educational background: B.Tech(Electrical Engg.) passed in 2014
Qualified in RBI Bhubaneswar as Assistant and RRB OS-I in Odisha Gramya Bank
I don’t want to call it a success story as each and every one of us is successful in some way or another. And as written by Robert R. Updegraff
“Success is a journey, not a destination. Happiness is to be found along the way, not at the end of the road, for then the journey is over and it is too late. Today, this hour, this minute is the day, the hour, the minute for each of us to sense the fact that life is good, with all its trials and troubles and perhaps more interesting because of them.”
I completed my graduation in 2014 from CV Raman College of Engineering, Bhubaneswar. I was not able to get a job from campus. I didn’t know what to do. Some suggested to go for GATE, some suggested to go to Bangalore for an IT job. But I wanted a govt job. Not only for the job security, but also for the interest to work for the government (directly or indirectly for the public). I decided to go for banking as the process of recruitment is fast and transparent. I didn’t know much about banking exams. Gave my first exam for SBI PO in 2014. Didn’t qualify.
SUCCESS STORY-DON'T READ IT |_3.1Then some friends told me about Bankersadda. I got good guidance, materials and motivation from the site and its followers. I attempted RBI Assistant, RRB OS1 2014, and other exams including insurance exams in 2014-15 and didn’t qualify in written. I was underestimating these exams.I qualified for interview in IBPS PO 2014. But didn’t make it to the final (scored less in written). I was disheartened. I can remember, I was sitting in a park to keep out all the negative thoughts, to be distracted from the news about my result. My father called me. I told him that I didn’t qualify in a shivering voice. I don’t know why but I cried there (though I was in a public park) for disappointing him, for shattering his dreams, his faith on my ability. I made sure not to let my parents feel that I was crying.
A small child was asking me to come with her to play hide and seek without knowing my situation. My parents asked me to think whether I will try for another year or go for M. Tech. I thought for 15 minutes. Then I called back my father and told him that I will try for another year. They asked me to take some more time, they advised me to think over it again. But I knew that I have to go for another year. Because I knew I will love to do a job in banking than in any other place, I love it.Now I thank him for being with me, for believing me.
My friends who completed graduation with me had one year work experience, a job and a good, stable (may be or may not be) life. But I had nothing but to chase my instinct, my dream.I was out from my comfort zone. I qualified in SBI PO prelim 2015 but could not qualify in mains. But selected in RBI Bhubaneswar and RRB OS1 in Odisha Gramya Bank. I can’t explain the feeling when I saw my roll no in selected candidates list on RBI site, I couldn’t talk to my friend who gave me the info about the result. I still can remember the happiness in my fathers voice. He was so happy that he forgot to end the call, but celebrate the news with my mother and brother. I will remember it forever. Someday you (Deserved one) will taste that. I am grateful to my parents, to the almighty, Bankersadda and other sites, you guys and gals out there, my teachers and many other people. Now I am going to prepare for RBI grade B exam and hope that I will clear it soon.
SUCCESS STORY-DON'T READ IT |_4.1I would like to give you some suggestion, some experience I collected from the path of my journey so far. Read the book “Megaliving” by Robin Sharma, “The secret” by Rhonda Byrne and “The monk who sold his Ferrari” by Robin Sharma. Stay motivated. Every challenge comes with lessons. Try to understand that. Bankersadda provides a lot of articles to motivate us well. I appreciate it, I got a lot of motivation from it. The materials provided are simply awesome. You guys and gals are awesome. There are a lot of intelligent and brilliant people answering in nice way to any question. Thank you Bankersadda for providing such a platform for discussion.
I would suggest you not to go after the cutoff. Well, for sectional cutoff it is okay. When you think about the total cutoff your potential and attention comes to that level. Believe me you can do better. It may require sometime, but you will make it, someday. If I can do it, then you can do it as well. I know, this achievement is not so big. But for me, for someone it is. It is just the first step towards my goal. If at least one will get something reading this article, I will feel good. Thank you BA Team.
