Success story: Success comes with correct planning! |_2.1
After reading success story of Abhishek Sharma who got 128.75 in mains, I thought I must also give my little success story to BA because Abhishek did coaching in career power and I prepared on my own, so, I thought BAians must have story of both, with coaching and without coaching. Rough my marks are not even around him, I got only 106.25 in mains and 67 in pre of IBPS PO.

I’m a pass out of 2014 B.Tech. After B.tech I joined a coaching class in Delhi to prepare for GATE and IES but I was an average student and always a low scorer in my college life, I was unable to crack either of the exams. So, I decided to focus on government jobs related to bank, in starting I didn’t have proper guide, so, I missed SBI PO pre, BoB Manipal, IDBI Manipal. Then I thought I’ll have to do more focus on exam or otherwise I’ll be thrown out of competition. From September 3 2015 I started my preparation for IBPS PO and cracked pre with 67 marks and cracked mains with 106.25 marks. This was first big success of mine. In total I took 97 mock tests of pre and mains, from careepower website and from a book.

Here are my strategies.

Quant: This section of mine is somewhat strong and didn’t need to focus on it more. Unlike Abhishek, I don’t know table beyond 12, square beyond 18 and cubes beyond 7 and I din’t feel any need of it because I rely on my speed. And in prelims, I was left with 1:04 min when I completed my paper.

Reasoning: This section is also good, but sometimes syllogism give me trouble.

GA: I was a big zero in GA but thanks to Bankers Adda, I read daily GA updates and able to clear GA cut off as well

English: In this, my approach is different. In this section there is an RC for sure which is of 10 marks. I don’t do it, because according to me, to read passage it’ll take 4-5 minutes and after doing that, solving 10 questions will also take 3-4 mins. In total 8-9 mins for 10 questions and we’re not even sure all the 8 will be right or not. So, removing RC we’re left with 20 marks in pre and 30 marks in mains, in the rest of the marks of English, I easily can qualify it’s cut off. But I was wrong, I missed SIDBI by 0.25 in English. I got 131 overall and cut off was 125 and as I told quant and reasoning is good, I got 89.25/100 in quant and reasoning together.

Computer: For this also, BA updates are enough.

And one more thing, I never ran behind cut offs, while taking mock tests I always tried to do better from the previous day. Focus on your goals and try to achieve it dedicatedly then no one can stop you. My father is the real hero behind  my success, he always backed me and always encouraged me.

I was unable to qualify these exams GATE-2014 and 2015, IES 2015, SBI PO, IDBI Manipal, BoB Manipal, BARC, BHEL, ONGC, IBPS PO-IV, Railway JE and SE, Airport Authority of India, SIDBI, SSC CGL and few more exams.

After clearing IBPS PO-V I felt like “tasting success after a number of failures, feels like tasting the most precious thing”
