SSC CGL 2017 Admit Card & Exam Dates Out

SSC has released notification for SSC CGL 2017 on 16th May 2017. The last date for submitting an online application for SSC CGL 2017 is 19th June 2017. The SSC CGL 2017 Tier-I examination is scheduled from 5th August to 24th August 2017. Tier-II exam for the same is scheduled from 10th November to 11th November 2017. Tier-III exam is scheduled on 21st January 2018 and the skill test for selected students will be conducted in February 2018.

SSC CGL JOB Profile 2017

SSC CGL Application Fee

Candidates are required to pay Rs. 100/- for SSC CGL 2017 form. No fee is required to be paid by Female candidates, SC/ST, Physically Handicapped and Ex-Servicemen Candidates.

Application fee should be paid only through SBI either through challan or through SBI net banking or through Credit Card/Debit Card of any other Bank. Candidates must pay fee in cash, take print out of the challan generated online after completion of Part-I registration. The requisite fee is then to be paid in any one of the branches of SBI and then students can continue with part-II of the registration.

Candidates who wish to pay the application fee online can do so by directly going to the part-II of the registration after completion of Part-I of the registration process.

SSC CGL 2017 Recruitment

SSC CGL 2017 Exam Centre

The Staff Selection Commission conducts Combined Graduate Level Exam at various centers all over the country. The notification for the same has been released on 16th of May, 2017. Candidates are given the liberty to choose exam center as per their choice while filling in the application form for SSC CGL 2017 exam. 

SSC CGL 2017 Exam Pattern

SSC conducts Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination in 4 different levels. The first two levels, Tier-I and Tier-II exams are conducted online. The third level, i.e. the descriptive Paper in English/Hindi is conducted via pen and paper mode while the fourth level, i.e. the computer skill test can be taken anywhere as per the candidate’s availability.

SSC CGL has introduced a descriptive paper in English/Hindi of 100 marks that have to be completed in 60 minutes. The time limit of Tier-I examination has been reduced from 75 minutes to 60 minutes. The key point to note here is that there is no sectional cut-off in any level of SSC CGL Examination.

SSC CGL 2017 Syllabus

The syllabus for SSC CGL 2017 is different for all the 4 levels in which the examination is to be conducted.

SSC CGL 2017 Tier-I Syllabus

The Tier-I exam of SSC CGL 2017 is an online mode of examination where 4 sections are present. The total marks allotted for all the sections combined is 200 and the time allotted for the completion of Tier-I exam is 60 minutes. A penalty of 0.5 marks will be imparted to every question attempted wrong by a candidate. A cumulative time of 80 minutes is allotted to physically handicapped students.

SSC CGL 2017 Tier-II Syllabus

The maximum marks for each section in Tier-II exam is 200.  In Tier II Quantitative Ability and English Language are the compulsory test that every candidate has to take but the rest two depend upon the post or job preference. A total of 100 questions are asked in each section and a cumulative time limit of 2 hours is provided to a candidate to complete each section which gets increased to 2 hours 40 minutes in case of physically handicapped students. 0.25 marks are deducted every time a candidate marks a question wrong.

SSC CGL 2017 Tier-III Syllabus

This is a descriptive exam designed to test the written skills of the candidates in English/Hindi. Conducted offline, students are required to write essays, prĂ©cis, application, letter etc. in this exam. The exam carries 100 marks and the time allotted for the same is 60 minutes. The allotted time for candidates belonging to PWD category is 80 minutes. Tier-III paper is given by the candidates who are interested only for the post of “Statistical Investigator Grade II” & “Compiler”.

SSC CGL 2017 Tier-IV Syllabus

Tier-IV examination comprises of a couple of skill sets required for certain Government Posts all over the country.

1. DEST (Data Entry Speed Test): This skill is required for qualifying all the posts, other than compiler, to check the typing speed of the candidate. The students are given an article in English which they have to type on Computer. A candidate is required to type 2000 words in 15 minutes.

2. CPT (Computer Proficiency Test): Word Processing, Spread Sheets and Generation of slides are the three modules that the commission takes into consideration for a candidate to be proficient in for the post of Assistant of CSS.

Tier-I and Tier-II exam is compulsory for all posts while Tier-III is specifically for candidates applying for the post of Statistical Investigator Grade-II and Compiler. Similarly, Tier-IV exam is specifically for Assistant Audit Officer.

Negative Marking

Giving a wrong answer to a question will lead to deduction of 0.5 marks in Tier-I and paper – I, III and IV of Tier-II while that of 0.25 marks in Paper II of Tier-I.

A candidate must be physically fit as per the standards of the inspector as there are some pre requisites for physical fitness for the post of Inspector ( Central/State Excise/Examiner/Preventive Officer), Sub-Inspector in CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) and sub-inspector in NIA (National Investigation Agency)

SSC CGL 2017 Preparation

SSC CGL 2017 Results

The result for SSC CGL 2017 tier-I will be released after the exam for the same has been conducted. The result of Tier-II and the subsequent examination will be released when the examination for the same has been conducted.

SSC CGL Answer Key

The official answer key to the SSC CGL Tier-I, II, tests will be displayed after the successful  conduction of the exams. The answer key will be released within 12-15 days after the completion of exams.

SSC CGL 2016 Cut Off

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will release the results in four stages after completion of each Tier Exam. The candidates selected in the rounds progress to the next one. Candidates can check the result from the direct link to official SSC CGL website as and when the results are announced.
