Bank of Maharashtra Recruitment - Notification FAQs (Clerk)

As you all know that Bank of Maharashtra has released the notification for the recruitment of OF LEGAL ASSISTANTS AND AGRICULTURE ASSISTANTS IN CLERICAL CADRE.

What are the posts available under this recruitment project?

The post which will be available in this recruitment project are:
 (i) Legal Assistants in clerical cadre
 (ii) Agricultural Assistants in clerical cadre 

When will be the exam conducted?
The Date will be announced later by Bank of Maharashtra

When will the result be declared?
The dates will be announced later by Bank of Maharashtra and the same will be notified once its get released.

How many vacancies are there?


a) Legal Assistants in Clerical Cadre: The number of vacancies are 100 for Legal Assistants. Click on the below image to check the complete break up of vacancies.

Will there be any interview after the written result?
No, the final selection will be based on the category wise merit in written test and subject to other eligibility criteria. Finally selected candidates will be called for document verification and after document verification, the posting will be done as per Bank‟s requirement.

Will the exam conducted online or offline (OMR Based)?
On-line test will be conducted through IBPS/ or any other examiner decided by the Bank and the mode of test will be decided by the Bank.

What is the age criteria to apply in this common written exam?
Minimum: 18 years         Maximum: 28 years
i.e. A candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.07.1988 and not later than 01.07.1998 (both days inclusive)

What is the educational qualification required for various posts in this recruitment process?

i)Legal Assistants: Graduation in Law from a Government recognized University/Institute.

ii)Agriculture Assistants : Graduation in Agriculture or Agriculture allied activities from a
Government recognized University/Institute. 

What is the application Fee?
Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates. 
Rs. 600 /- for all others 

When will the registration start?
Online registration will start from 12.08.2016 and will end on 06.09.2016

I have scored 55% in Graduation. Am I eligible to sit for the exam?
Yes, you can apply as there is no percentage criterion. You just need to be a graduate.

How to calculate the Percentage?
The percentage marks shall be arrived at by dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects in all semester(s)/year(s) by aggregate maximum marks in all the subjects irrespective of honours / optional / additional optional subject, if any. This will be applicable for those Universities also where Class / Grade is decided on basis of Honours marks only. The fraction of percentage so arrived will be ignored i.e. 59.99% will be treated as less than 60% and 54.99% will be treated as less than 55%.

What is the Structure of the exam?
The selection will be made on the basis of performance in the order of merit in Online Test conducted through IBPS/or any other examiner decided by the Bank and Documents & Biometric verification. Merely satisfying the eligibility norms do not entitle a candidate to be called for written test & document verification. Is the exam Bilingual?
The tests except the Test of English Language will be available bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi.

Is there a sectional cut-off in the exam?
The passing marks of the test will be decided by the Bank on the basis of the performance of all the competing candidates taken together in each test to a minimum required level. Candidates are also required to score minimum percentage marks on aggregate 

Is there a criterion for negative marking?
There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the objective tests. 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

What will be the process after exam?
Depending on the number of vacancies, only those candidates who are Qualified in the Common Written Examination conducted by IBPS and rank sufficiently high in the order of merit based on the total Weighted Score shall be called for a document verification personally in the ratio of 1:1 or as decided by the Bank against the vacancies stipulated.
