India Post Payments Bank Limited 2016 Notification FAQs

Dear Readers,

India Post Payments Bank Limited yesterday released it's notification for recruitment of Scale I Officers post. IPPB's recruitment of Scale I Officers will be conducted tentatively in December 2016/January 2017.
 What are the posts available under this recruitment project for freshers?
The post which will be available in this recruitment project is Officer Scale I - Assistant Manager (Territory).

☛  When will be the exam conducted?
IPPB's recruitment of Scale I Officers will be conducted tentatively in December 2016/January 2017.
☛ How many vacancies are there?
The number of vacancies are 650 for Assistant Manager. Check the complete break up of vacancies in the table below.

☛ Will the exam be conducted online or offline (OMR Based)?
Common Written Exam for IPPB will be conducted in online mode for both Prelims and Mains exams.
☛ What is the Structure of Examination?

The structure of the examinations which will be conducted online are as follows:

A) Preliminary Examination

Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing cut-off marks to be decided by IPPB. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by IPPB depending upon requirements will be shortlisted for the Online Main Examination.

B) Main Examination
☛ Will there be any interview after the written result?
Yes, there will be interview process only for Officers Grade-I. The total marks allotted for Interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks in interview will not be less than 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates). The weightage (ratio) of Main exam and interview will be 80:20 respectively. 
☛ What is the age criteria to apply in this common written exam?
For Officer Scale-I Age Limit: 20 to 30 years
Note: The candidate should be born not before 02.09.1986 and not later than 01.09.1996 (both dates inclusive).

☛ What is the educational qualification required for various posts in this recruitment process?

For Officer Scale-I: Minimum Educational Qualification: Graduate from University/ Institution/ Board recognized by the Government of India (or) approved by a Government Regulatory Body.
Note: Candidates who fulfill the minimum education qualification and with postal services or sales of financial products/ rural banking/ with experience as Business Correspondent for banks are also eligible.
☛ I have given my final year graduation exams but the result has not been declared yet. Can I apply?
The candidate must possess the requisite educational qualification as on 01.09.2016.
Degrees obtained from the recognised Universities or Institutes recognised by the
Govt. of India only will be considered.
Candidates who are awaiting their results of the qualifying examination OR who have not passed the qualifying examination on or before 01.09.2016 are not eligible.
iv. Candidate should indicate the percentage obtained in Graduation calculated to the
nearest two decimals in the online application. Where CGPA / OGPA is awarded, 
the same should be converted into percentage and indicate the same in online

☛ What is the application Fee?
Rs. 150/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates. 
Rs. 700 /- for all others 
☛ When will the registration start?
Registration will start from 4.10.2016 and will end on 25.10.2016
☛ I have scored 55% in Graduation. Am I eligible to sit for the exam?
Yes, you can apply as there is no percentage criterion. You just need to be a graduate.
☛ I am 19 years old. Can I sit for the exam?
No, You must be at least 20 years of age to apply for the posts of Officer Scale-I.
☛ How to calculate the Percentage?
The percentage marks shall be arrived at by dividing the marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects in all semester(s)/year(s) by aggregate maximum marks in all the subjects irrespective of honours / optional / additional optional subject, if any. This will be applicable for those Universities also where Class / Grade is decided on basis of Honours marks only.
The fraction of percentage so arrived will be ignored i.e. 59.99% will be treated as less than 60% and 54.99% will be treated as less than 55%
☛ Is the exam Bilingual?
The tests except the Test of English Language in Mains exam all others will be available bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi.
☛ What is the cut-off for being recruited?
There is no fixed cut-off. It depends on the performance of the candidates. Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test of Online Mains Examination and also a minimum total score to be considered for further process.
☛ Is there a sectional cut-off in the exam?
Yes, there is a sectional cut-off in the exam. You have to clear every section.
☛ I have cleared the overall cutoff of the exam. However, I could not clear the cutoff for the general awareness section. Am I still eligible?
Unfortunately, you are not eligible to move to the interview stage. You must clear the cutoff for each section individually and the overall cutoff as well.
☛ Is there a criterion for negative marking?
There is negative marking of ¼ marks for every wrong answer.

Pay Sacle - 23,700 - 42,020
Approximate Total Monthly CTC# - 65,000
(#) – Approximate monthly CTC calculated at the start of the scale inclusive of Dearness Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance & other allowances at “A” Category cities.

☛ Is There any Probation period?
The Probationary Officers will be on probation of two years during which they will be
given intensive training. Towards the end of their probation/training period, they will
be subjected to a screening process for confirmation.
