1. India Launches First Guide to Open Natural Ecosystems
- India launched its first-ever Guide to Grasslands and Other Open Natural Ecosystems (ONEs) on August 17, 2026.

2. Qatar-India Postal Remittance Service Uses UPI Infrastructure

4. Himalayan Plant Named After Legendary Mountaineer Nirmal Purja
- A newly discovered Himalayan plant has been named Impatiens nimspurjai in honour of Nepali mountaineer Nirmal “Nimsdai” Purja.
- The species was discovered in Nepal’s Myagdi district at an altitude of around 2,800–2,900 metres.
- Researchers Bhakta Bahadur Raskoti and Rita Ale are credited with the discovery.
- Purja became famous after climbing all 14 mountains above 8,000 metres in six months and six days in 2019.
- He also participated in the first winter ascent of K2 in 2021 and supported mountain conservation initiatives.
