Indian Railways Launches New 18-Star Logo After Creation of South Coast Railway Zone

  • Indian Railways will operationalize the South Coast Railway (SCoR) on 1 June 2026, making it the country’s 18th railway zone. Headquartered in Visakhapatnam, SCoR has been formed by reorganizing parts of East Coast Railway and South Central Railway.
  • It will include the Guntakal, Guntur, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam divisions. Indian Railways has also unveiled a new 18-star logo representing its 18 zones.
  • The headquarters at Mudasarlova, Visakhapatnam, is being developed at a cost of ₹183.58 crore and will serve parts of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.

Odisha, Intel and 3D Glass Solutions Sign $3.3 Billion Semiconductor Manufacturing Deal

  • The Government of Odisha, Intel Corporation, and 3D Glass Solutions have signed a $3.3 billion MoU to establish an advanced glass core substrate manufacturing facility in the Bhubaneswar–Khurda region.
  • The project will produce advanced packaging glass core substrates, high-density interconnect (HDI) substrates, and next-generation semiconductor components.
  • Supported by the India Semiconductor Mission, the facility aims to strengthen India’s semiconductor ecosystem, reduce import dependence, and enhance capabilities in chip packaging and advanced electronics manufacturing.

Government Approves Two New SEZs in Puducherry, Investment to Cross ₹1,975 Crore
