The collaboration was initiated in February 2021.
The hybrid was developed using conventional non-GMO hybrid breeding methods.
The technology involves controlled cross-pollination of selected parent lines to combine desirable traits.
The indigenous hybrid is expected to reduce India’s dependence on imported popcorn maize technologies.
It will support domestic popcorn production, value-added agricultural processing and export opportunities for popcorn products.

The global rankings were released by Alphaliner, a France-based research and data platform for the liner shipping industry.
China continued to dominate the global container port sector, with six Chinese ports featuring among the world’s top ten ports.
