"Give your 100 percent, success will automatically knock your door": Sangeeta Das (BOI Clerk 2017)-21 |_2.1

Hello friends,
Myself-Sangeeta Das
B.E-Civil Engineering
I have got selected in Ibps clerk 2016-17( Bank of India), Assam Circle
I have been waiting for a long time to write my success story in bankersadda and to see it get published in the website. The main reason to write down here is just to say thanks to bankersadda.com and Adda247.

My journey started in the year 2015 just after completion of my graduation from Assam Engineering College. As my branch was civil and also I m a female candidate so I found it very difficult to get job in campus selection. Most of the companies which visited our campus were IT companies and the civil based companies didn’t allow girls to seat as they were construction based and the requirement was site engineer. So, finally I decided to opt for the banking sector. After graduation I took admission to a coaching institute in Guwahati(in the month of August) but i didn’t find it very helpful. As I was from engineering background so my aptitude part was bit strong. The weakest part was english as I was from vernacular medium.

The first exam i wrote was ibps rrb po and clerk which were complete disaster. Then in October month I gave Ibps po prelims and it was expected that i would clear it. I cleared prelims and mains too(which was beyond my expectation). I appeared for the interview but couldn’t make it to the final list. My written marks for mains was 79.75(cutoff 76 gen) and in interview i got 61( which was less too). Final cutoff was 49.9 and I got 44.1. 1st April 2016 was the day when all my dreams shattered. Ibps po, Ibps clerk(missed by few marks, exact figure i forgot), LIC AAO -all failure.I cried a lot but don’t know from somewhere a motivation came and I started preparing again with full enthusiasm.I would like to give its credit to my fiance and my family. My fiance constantly motivated me and made me realise that I CAN DO IT. I would like to say something to the people who couldn’t make the cut this year that don’t bother about people who give unwanted comments, just do your work. I faced that embarrassment too when people asked me why you didn’t go and join any private sector, why you are seating ideally at home. These questions are just heart piercing but ignored all these.  I heard about bankersadda but I didn’t utilize it that much. After so many failures I started complete utilisation of bankersadda.com and specially adda247 in the year 2016(April Month). Without any doubt I can say that whatever I achieved today is only because of Adda247. In today’s world everyone is hardworking , everyone gives his/her effort but bankersadda gives you the right direction to put your efforts.

Exams which I gave in the session 2016-17
UIIC AO(falied)
SBI PO-( Couldn’t clear prelims)
IBPS PO-(prelims cleared, mains-58.75(cutoff 52.5 Gen) couldn’t clear the sectional cutoff of English for just 1 mark)
IBPS RRB PO-( prelims-cleared, mains-105(cleared), missed the final cutoff by 2 marks)
IBPS RRB ASSISTANT-Prelims cleared, didn’t appear in mains
IBPS CLERK-SELECTED
RBI ASSISTANT-Prelims cleared, mains-100 (cutoff 107.25)
IPPB-Prelims cleared, mains appeared(result awaited)
About strategy I can say that don’t follow others strategy, just make it your own and self assessment is the best teacher.

My strategy-

Quant-for this part I solved two books-R.S Agarwal/Fastrack arithmetic and another by Sarvesh kumar(selected topics). After that I practiced daily quizzes of adda247 on daily basis and also in repetitive manner.

English-This was my weakest part so cant give you more details. My aim was just to clear the cutoff. I always tried to attempt the grammar part because it was less time consuming and also involved accuracy. But the new pattern is bit difficult.

Logical-This was one of my strongest part you can say but the new pattern which Ibps has adopted has proved me wrong. Just I can say there is no other alternative for it….practice as much you can.Try to solve puzzle on daily basis. I followed the quizzes of adda 247 and 1 month before exam I took mock tests. In mock test you can get variety of puzzles and also other questions.Just don’t give the mock test, analysis is more important than just attempting it. The journey doesn’t stop here…becoming a PO is my goal and I will work hard to achieve it if God’s grace is there with me.

My opinion is that hours of study doesn’t matter much….do productive study and focus more on your weak areas. As you can see just because of one subject I missed Ibps po this year so don’t make such mistakes and rest is your luck and you have to believe it.
