International Archives Day is observed every year on 9 June to recognize the importance of archives in preserving historical records, cultural heritage, and institutional memory. Archives serve as valuable sources of information that help societies understand their past, document their present, and make informed decisions for the future. The day highlights the crucial role played by archivists and archival institutions in safeguarding documents that hold historical, legal, administrative, and cultural significance.
