As you all know that  Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) has released the much-awaited notification for the post of Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO). The total number of vacancies are 590. All those who couldn’t perform well in previous exams like IBPS PO, IBPS SO, NIACL AO have got a second bite at the cherry with this notification. All those who seek to make headway in their career with the insurance sector can apply for the post and get a job in this sector. Here are the answers to frequently asked questions about LIC AAO Notification 2019.

 ☛ What are the posts available on this recruitment project?
The post which will be available in this recruitment project by LIC AAO are as follows:
Generalist – 350
IT – 150
Chartered Accountant (CA) – 50
Actuarial –  30
Rajbhasha –  10
☛ When will be the exam conducted?
The Tentative dates for Preliminary Exam is expected to be held on 4th & 5th May 2019.
The Tentative dates for Main Exam 28th June 2019.
☛ How many vacancies are there?
The number of vacancies is 590 for AAO in LIC.

☛ Is there any provision for EWS?
Yes! Separate vacancies are mentioned for  EWS Quota. Please refer LIC AAO 2019 official notification for details.

☛ When will the registration start?
Registration will begin from 2nd March 2019.
☛ What is the last date to apply for this post?
The last date to apply for this post is 22nd March 2019.

☛ What is the selection procedure of LIC AAO 2019?
The selection for AAO will be done through a three-tiered process:
Phase I – Preliminary Examination (Objective)
Phase II – Main Examination (Objective + Descriptive)
Phase III – Interview
Will the exam be conducted online or offline (OMR Based)?
Common Written Exam for LIC AAO will be conducted online (Both Prelims and Mains).
What is the age criteria to apply in this common written exam?
Minimum Age: 21 years
Maximum Age: 30 years, as on 01.03.2019.
i.e. a candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.03.1989 and not later than 01.03.1998 (both dates inclusive).

☛ What is the educational qualification required for various posts in this recruitment process?

  • AAO (Generalist): “Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized Indian University/Institution”.
  • AAO (IT) : Graduation degree in Engineering in Computer Science, IT or Electronics, or an MCA, or an MSC(Computer Science) from a recognized Indian University/Institution.
  • AAO (Chartered Accountant) – Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized Indian University/Institution and Candidate should have passed Final Examination of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and completion of Articles as presented by Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. The candidate should be Associate member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Candidates should provide their membership number and the same will be verified with Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
  • AAO (Actuarial) – Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized Indian University/Institution and Candidates should have compulsorily passed paper CT1 and CT5 plus 4 or more other papers of the examination conducted by the Institute of Actuaries of India / Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK. (Total 6 or more papers) as on the date of eligibility i.e. 1st March, 2019. Candidates should provide their membership number and the same will be verified with Institute of Actuaries of India / Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK.

NOTE: All the educational qualifications mentioned should be from a University/Institute/ Board recognized by Govt. of India / approved by the Government Regulatory bodies and the result should have been declared on or before 01.03.2019.

☛ What is the Application Fee?
For SC/ST/PWD 100/- plus Transaction Charges.
For General, OBC 600/- plus Transaction Charges.
☛ What is the Structure of the exam?

  • LIC AAO Phase-I: Preliminary Examination Pattern 2019 (Common for all the posts)

 What is the salary of LIC AAO?

Basic pay of Rs. 32795/- per month in the scale of Rs. 32795- 1610(14) –55335– 1745(4) –62315 and other admissible allowances as per rules. Total emoluments at the minimum of the scale, inclusive of House Rent Allowance & City Compensatory Allowance wherever admissible depending upon the classification of the city, will be approximately Rs 56,000/- per month in ‘A’ Class city.
