LIC AAO Selection Process

The LIC AAO Selection Process 2026 consists of four stages. Candidates must qualify each stage separately to move to the next phase of the recruitment process.

  • Phase 1: Preliminary Examination : The Preliminary Examination is conducted in online mode and consists of objective-type questions. Candidates must qualify the sectional as well as the overall cut-off marks decided by LIC. The marks obtained in the prelims are qualifying in nature and are not considered for the final merit list.
  • Phase 2: Main Examination : Candidates shortlisted from the prelims appear for the Main Examination, which includes objective and descriptive papers. Candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks in each section and in aggregate. Only the marks obtained in the Main Examination are considered for shortlisting candidates for the Interview.
  • Phase 3: Interview : Who qualify the Main Examination are called for the Interview. The interview carries 60 marks, and candidates must obtain the minimum qualifying marks prescribed by LIC. The final merit list is prepared by combining the Main Examination marks and Interview marks.
  • Phase 4: Pre-Recruitment Medical Examination : Candidates who are selected in the final merit list have to undergo a medical examination. Appointment is offered only after the candidate is declared medically fit by LIC.

The Document Verification (DV) process is conducted for candidates who qualify for the Interview stage. During verification, candidates must produce all original documents along with self-attested photocopies. Failure to submit any required document or providing incorrect information may lead to cancellation of candidature.
