RBI Grade B Number of Attempts and Age Relaxation 2027, Category-Wise Eligibility Criteria

The Reserve Bank of India conducts the prestigious RBI Grade B exam every year to recruit officers for various departments. Before applying, candidates must clearly understand the number of attempts allowed and the age relaxation criteria, as these directly impact eligibility and preparation strategy.

RBI Grade B Number of Attempts & Age Relaxation 2027

RBI Grade B is one of the most competitive exams in India, and understanding eligibility rules is crucial before starting preparation. Knowing your attempt limit and age relaxation benefits helps you create a realistic strategy and timeline.

Number of Attempts in RBI Grade B

The RBI has set a limit on the number of attempts only for candidates belonging to the General category.

  • General Category: Maximum 6 attempts for Phase I (only Phase I appearances are counted).
  • SC/ST/PwBD: No restriction on the number of attempts, provided candidates fall within the prescribed age limit.
  • OBC: Also no specific attempt limit, but candidates must meet age criteria.

Important Note: An attempt is counted only when a candidate appears in Phase I exam. Simply filling out the form does not count as an attempt.

To apply for RBI Grade B:

  • Minimum Age: 21 years
  • Maximum Age: 30 years

Candidates must be within this age range as per the date mentioned in the official notification.

  • 4. Age relaxation is applicable only when candidates fulfil the prescribed category and eligibility requirements.
