SBI PO Group Exercise & Personal Interview Experience 2017 – 4

SBI PO is the most sought after recruitment process by banking aspirants. Group Exercise and Personal Interview is the final round (Phase-III) in SBI PO 2017 Recruitment. Last year SBI introduced a prioritisation based group exercise which is also being conducted this year in the Group Discussion Round. After reaching the venue they conducted document verification which was followed by the start of Group Discussion.

GD Topic- National Eligibility Entrance Test

Personal Interview

There were 5 members in the panel. Four male and 1 female. I entered the room with a smile and greeted all the members. The female member appreciated me for my appearance, she said- You look smarter in real than your photograph. I thanked her with a smile.

She took the charge and asked- Geography to kam hi universities me h. I told, yes ma’am.
She: So, from which college?
Me: Kirorimal College ma’am.

She(excited): Some famous personalities from your college.(She wanted to hear Amitabh Bachchan)
Me: Ma’am, Sh Naveen Patnaik, and Amitabh Bachchan.

She: Name some countries which surround by the Red Sea?
Me: Ma’am, some African and some Asian countries.(I wasn’t sure of this so I denied to mention countries, it was disappointing a bit).

She: Tell me about grasslands.
Me: Ma’am, Sawana in Africa, steppes, I can’t recall more right now.

She: Where is Panama canal?
Me: Ma’am it’s between north and south America.

She: Is it among seven wonders?
Me: Sorry ma’am, I don’t remember.( It’s in modern wonders)

She: What is Egypt famous for?
Me: Ma’am, it’s famous for its pyramids, and these are in seven wonders ( she smiled)

Then she passed on to next panelist who was chairman, I guessed it as he was holding my original bio-data

Chairman: So you had NCC, tell me the ranking in army after Captain.
Me: Sir, Brigadier.( Ah, here I slipped)

Ch: Accha, sidhe Brigadier, laughing, accha kya pucchu fir, okay, your hobbies? ( He appreciated me for my handwriting).
Me: Sir drawing and reading.

Ch: Reading, so, tell me for what Booker prize is given?
Me: Sir, literature.( I knew arundhaty Roy won it from India, but I didn’t speak it)

Ch: Nobel?
Me: Sir it is given for different fields, like Economics, Physics, Chemistry and Peace also.(He was satisfied)

Ch: Who is the recent Nobel laureate from India?
Me: Sir Sh Kailash Satyarthi.

Ch: Accha Pakistan ke sath kitne war hue and tell when they happened?
Me: Sir, 65, 71, and 1999 Kargil.

Ch: What were the consequences of 71 war?
Me: Sir we won it.

Ch: Not that.
Me: Sir partition of Bengal (The female panelist said, “Bangladesh was formed and partition of Bengal was done later”)

Now it was member 1,( he was the observer as well)

M1: Sabse jyada barish kaha hoti h India me?
Me: Sir Mawsynram, Cherrapunji.

M1: Cherrapunji has a different name, what’s it?
Me: Sorry sir, I don’t know.

Now member 2( he was from north east)

M2: We had a war with China and unfortunately we were defeated in that, when did that happen?
Me: Sir 1962.(he was satisfied)

Now the female panelist asked a question.

She: Where is Siberia?
Me: Ma’am it’s in Russia.

Chairman: Which countries touch Indian borderline?
Me: Sir, Pakistan, China, Nepal….and told all.

Now the last member 3 asked his question.

M3: As ma’am asked you Siberia, in India also we have such climatic conditions, what’s that place?
Me: Sir, it’s Ladakh, according to higher latitudes.( He was satisfied  with my answer)

Then, they thanked me, and I also did the same. So, it was a great experience. Panelists were so dynamic and cordial as well.
