Since the final selection has been announced in July 2026, all earlier stages including the application process, online examination, screening, interviews, and local language proficiency test have already been completed. The recruitment has now concluded with the appointment of 1,930 Circle Based Officers, who will soon join SBI branches across the country to strengthen customer service and branch operations.

• While announcing the recruitment, SBI stated that the newly appointed officers would play an important role in serving its customer base of over 53 crore customers.
• SBI Chairman Challa Sreenivasulu Setty emphasized that the recruitment aligns with the bank’s broader transformation strategy focused on combining digital innovation with personalized customer service. According to the bank, strengthening its branch workforce remains equally important alongside expanding digital banking services.

SBI CBO Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the Circle Based Officer post were required to fulfill the following eligibility conditions:

Educational Qualification

Applicants were required to possess:

• Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university
• Professional qualifications like Engineering, CA, Cost Accountant, or Medical degree were also accepted.

Banking Experience

Candidates needed a minimum of two years of experience as an officer in:

• Scheduled Commercial Banks
• Regional Rural Banks (RRBs)

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 21 years
• Maximum Age: 30 years
• Age calculated as on 31 December 2025
