Linked with the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), it automatically converts verified cyber fraud complaints above ₹10 lakh into Zero FIRs, removing jurisdictional delays.
Complaints can be lodged through the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal or helpline 1930.
The initiative enables faster investigations, improves fund recovery during the “golden hour,” strengthens inter-agency coordination, and enhances protection against growing cyber financial fraud across India.

India Targets 100 GW Pumped Storage Capacity

India plans to develop 100 GW of pumped storage hydropower capacity by FY2035-36 to support renewable energy growth and grid stability.
Prepared by the Central Electricity Authority, the roadmap emphasizes energy storage through reservoirs that function as natural batteries.
India currently has 7.2 GW operational and 11.6 GW under construction, with nearly 288 GW potential identified.

India Pharmacopoeia Sets Global Blood Standards

India Launches Index Of Services Production

India will launch the Index of Services Production (ISP) in July 2026 to measure monthly performance of the services sector.
Developed by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, the index will use 2024-25 as the base year and track sectors including banking, insurance, transport, telecom, IT, hospitality, and trade.
Using GST data, surveys, and administrative records, the ISP will provide high-frequency economic indicators similar to the Index of Industrial Production.

UP Kanya Sumangala Yojana Empowers Girls Financially

Bangladesh Joins Global Big Cat Alliance Efforts

Bangladesh became the 27th member of the International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA), strengthening global conservation efforts for endangered big cats.
Launched by India in 2023 and headquartered in New Delhi, the alliance focuses on protecting tigers, lions, leopards, snow leopards, cheetahs, jaguars, and pumas.
Bangladesh’s participation is significant due to the shared Sundarbans ecosystem, home to the Bengal tiger.

NASA Plans Swift Boost Robotic Rescue Mission

NASA is preparing the Swift Boost mission to save the Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory from orbital decay caused by increased atmospheric drag due to solar activity.
Scheduled for launch on June 27, 2026, the mission will deploy the LINK robotic spacecraft, developed by Katalyst Space Technologies, to dock with and raise the telescope’s orbit.

RBI Updates Scale-Based Regulation Framework NBFCs

The RBI revised its Scale-Based Regulation framework for NBFCs to strengthen oversight and financial stability. NBFCs remain classified into Base, Middle, Upper, and Top Layers based on size and risk.
The review cycle for identifying Upper Layer NBFCs has been shortened from five years to three years for quicker regulatory action.
All bank-promoted NBFCs will now follow Upper Layer norms regardless of size, while government-owned NBFCs must comply with uniform exposure limits.
The reforms aim to reduce systemic risks, improve governance standards, prevent regulatory arbitrage, and ensure stronger financial sector resilience.

RBI Tightens Scale-Based Regulation for NBFC Stability

The Reserve Bank of India further strengthened its Scale-Based Regulation framework to improve supervision of Non-Banking Financial Companies.
The revised norms ensure stricter oversight of systemically important institutions while maintaining proportional regulation for smaller entities.
A major change places all bank-promoted NBFCs under Upper Layer supervision irrespective of asset size. The threshold for identifying Upper Layer entities will now be reviewed every three years instead of five.

RBI Announces Digital Fraud Compensation Framework

The RBI introduced a compensation framework for victims of small-value digital banking frauds, effective January 1, 2027.
It covers unauthorized transactions through UPI, internet banking, mobile banking, and debit or credit cards.
Victims can receive compensation up to ₹25,000 or 85% of losses up to ₹50,000 if fraud is reported within five days through banks and cybercrime channels. The framework mandates 24×7 reporting systems, complaint resolution within 45 days, and shadow reversal mechanisms.
It enhances consumer protection, strengthens accountability, and promotes trust in India’s rapidly growing digital payments ecosystem.

BHIM App Transaction Volumes Triple Growth

The BHIM payment application recorded remarkable growth, processing 244 million transactions in May 2026 compared to 79.64 million in June 2025, representing over 206% growth.
According to NPCI BHIM Services Limited, transaction value reached approximately ₹26,952 crore.
Developed by the National Payments Corporation of India, BHIM facilitates UPI-based money transfers, QR code payments, and multi-bank account integration.

S&P Projects India GDP Growth Slows to 6.6% FY27

S&P Global Ratings projected India’s GDP growth to moderate to 6.6% in FY27 from 7.7% in FY26 due to energy-related challenges and a below-normal monsoon.

Once systems are compromised, they can hijack accounts and issue fraudulent payment instructions. The scam relies heavily on social engineering and trust rather than technical vulnerabilities.
I4C advises organizations to independently verify payment requests, strengthen approval mechanisms, avoid suspicious downloads, and improve cybersecurity awareness among employees.
