- On June 10, 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi completed 4,399 consecutive days in office, surpassing the record of Jawaharlal Nehru (4,398 consecutive days after election) to become India’s longest continuously serving elected Prime Minister.
- Modi first assumed office on May 26, 2014, and led his party to victories in the 2014, 2019, and 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
- He is the first non-Congress Prime Minister to complete two full-majority terms and the first since Nehru to win three consecutive general elections as incumbent. Earlier, he also surpassed Indira Gandhi’s uninterrupted tenure record.
- However, Nehru remains India’s longest-serving Prime Minister overall, with a total tenure of 6,131 days (1947–1964).

Uttar Pradesh Launches ‘Project Ganga’ to Bring High-Speed Internet to Rural Areas
