Vocabulary is an important part of English that helps you deal with all kinds of questions in objective as well as descriptive papers of various exams. In the recently concluded Banking Exams, we witnessed that a major part of the exam was based on vocabulary. Many questions were vocab based and we can expect the same in the upcoming exams. 1. OUTRAGE : व्यतिक्रम करना
Meaning: an extremely strong reaction of anger, shock, or indignation.
Synonyms: indignation, fury, anger, rage
Antonyms: kindness, honor, praise, respect
Example: They were horrified by the outrage before their eyes.

2. ONUS  : दायित्व
Meaning: something that is one’s duty or responsibility.
Synonyms: burden, responsibility, liability, obligation
Antonyms: advantage, benefit, blessing
Example:  The onus of proof lies with the prosecution.

3. DETERRENT : हतोत्साह करनेवाला
Meaning: a thing that discourages or is intended to discourage someone from doing something.
Synonyms: disincentive, discouragement
Antonyms: incentive, encouragement
Example: The nuclear deterrent has maintained an uneasy peace.

4. DELIBERATE : जानबूझकर
Meaning: done consciously and intentionally.
Synonyms: intentional, calculated, conscious
Antonyms: accidental, unintentional
Example: Can you pick out the three deliberate mistakes in this paragraph?

5. OBSCENE : निर्लज्ज
Meaning: offending against moral principles; repugnant.
Synonyms: shocking, scandalous, vile, foul, atrocious, outrageous
Antonyms: clean, decent, gentle, magnificent
Example: The salaries some company directors earn are obscene.

6. EMBLEMATIC : प्रतीकात्मक
Meaning: serving as a symbol of a particular quality or concept; symbolic.
Synonyms: symbolic, representative, demonstrative, suggestive
Antonyms: representational, realistic
Example: Over time, his story became emblematic of the spirit of the modern age.

7. TWEAK : एक तंत्र या प्रणाली के लिए एक अच्छा समायोजन
Meaning: a fine adjustment to a mechanism or system.
Synonyms: adjustment, modification, alteration, change,
Example: I think you’ll have to tweak these figures a little before you show them to the boss.

8. COUP : सहसाघात
Meaning: an instance of successfully achieving something difficult.
Synonyms: success, triumph, feat,
Antonyms: failure
Example: There have been seven coup attempts against the beleaguered government.

9. INEFFABLE : प्रशंसातीत
Meaning: too great or extreme to be expressed or described in words.
Synonyms: inexpressible, indescribable,marvellous, wonderful
Antonyms: definable, describable, utterable
Example: There was a spring in his step, and ineffable calmness dressing his sun-brown face.

10. ADDLE : (कोई) स्पष्ट रूप से सोचने में असमर्थ; भ्रमित
Meaning: make (someone) unable to think clearly; confuse.
Synonyms: muddled, confused, fuddled
Antonyms: clarify, enlighten, explain
Example: The object is to addle and not to elucidate.
