Vocabulary is an important part of English that helps you deal with all kinds of questions in objective as well as descriptive papers of various exams. In the recently concluded Banking Exams, we witnessed that a major part of the exam was based on vocabulary. Many questions were vocab based and we can expect the same in the upcoming exams. 1. FOREGONE : पूर्व निश्चित
Meaning: past participle of forego(go without (something desirable).
Synonyms: predestined, certain
Example: There is no foregone conclusion to a potential challenge and we would do well to start identifying the core constitutional questions that arise.

2. FACET : पहलू
Meaning: a particular aspect or feature of something.
Synonyms: aspect, feature, side, dimension
Example: In debate, it is important to know every facet of your argument.

3. AMBIGUITY : संदिग्धता
Meaning: the quality of being open to more than one interpretation; inexactness.
Synonyms: ambivalence, equivocation; obscurity, vagueness
Antonyms: transparency
Example: We can detect no ambiguity in this section of the Act.

4. ALLUDE : संकेत करना
Meaning: suggest or call attention to indirectly; hint at.
Synonyms: suggest, imply, mention, cite
Example: We can only allude to some of these points.


5. REVOKE : रद्द करना
Meaning: officially cancel (a decree, decision, or promise).
Synonyms: rescind, reverse, abrogate, annul, nullify,
Antonyms:  introduce, enact, ratify
Example: If the new law passes, it will revoke a previous law.

6. SCRUTINY : संवीक्षा
Meaning: critical observation or examination.
Synonyms: inspection, survey, scan, study
Antonyms: flash, glance, glimpse, peek
Example: The university may revoke my diploma.

7. DEROGATORY : अपमानजनक
Meaning: showing a critical or disrespectful attitude.
Synonyms: disparaging, slighting, pejorative, belittling
Antonyms: complimentary, appreciative, favorable, flattering
Example: He made some derogatory comment/remark about her appearance.

8. INDELIBLE : अमिट
Meaning: not able to be forgotten.
Synonyms: indestructible, permanent, lasting, persisting
Antonyms: delible, destructible, erasable, impermanent
Example: Getting out didn’t make such an indelible impression as going in.

9. AMBIVALENT : उभयभावी
Meaning: having mixed feelings or contradictory ideas about something or someone.
Synonyms: equivocal, uncertain, unsure, doubtful
Antonyms: unequivocal, certain
Example: There is an ambivalent feeling towards rural workers.

10. TRUCULENT : लड़ाकू
Meaning: eager or quick to argue or fight; aggressively defiant.
Synonyms: defiant, aggressive, antagonistic, belligerent
Antonyms: cooperative, friendly, amiable
Example: I found him truculent and unpleasant.
