Former President Pranab Mukherjee Died After COVID Diagnosis

Former President Pranab Mukherjee dies on 31st August in New Delhi after he was tested positive for COVID-19; this news is confirmed by his son on his twitter. Ex-President of India went for a surgey of brain clot 21 days ago when he was tested positive for coronavirus. Pranab Mukherjee died at an age of 84 years due to the lung infection caused due to Coronavirus. According to the doctors of New Delhi’s Army Hospital: Pranab Mukherjee had gone into a sepatic shock when he developed lung infection and his health declined since Sunday.

His son Abhijit Mukherjee shared the news of his dad’s death on a tweet, saying, With a Heavy Heart , this is to inform you that my father Shri #PranabMukherjee has just passed away inspite of the best efforts of Doctors of RR Hospital & prayers ,duas & prarthanas from people throughout India ! I thank all of You”

As a condolence with heavy heart, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted an image with Late Pranab Mukherjee where he is touching his feet. In his tweet he said; “India grieves the passing away of Bharat Ratna Shri Pranab Mukherjee. He has left an indelible mark on the development trajectory of our nation. A scholar par excellence, a towering statesman, he was admired across the political spectrum and by all sections of society.”

He was one of the leading figures of the Congress party, Ex- President Pranab Mukherjee held every key ministry in India – Commerce, Defence, external affairs and finance – over a chequered half- a-century-long political career of 51 years. Late Pranab Mukherjee had also served on the boards of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank during his political career.

Mr. Mukherjee was a parliamentarian for a long period of 37 years, and he was widely known with a name as consensus-builder. He joined Congress Party in 1960s when Indira Gandhi described him as her mentor and left the party in 1986; however after 2 years he returned back to the party.
