Hello, Greetings!! SBI PO 2017 will commence in the month of APRIL 2017. In order to help and guide all of you, we’re going to post VOCABULARY BASED ON THE HINDU NEWSPAPER. In all the competitive exams, Vocabulary questions are asked from newspapers. 


1. Wobble: an unsteady movement from side to side.
Sentence: “the handlebars developed a wobble”

2. Profanity: blasphemous or obscene language.
Sentence: “an outburst of profanity”
synonyms: oath, swear word, expletive, curse, obscenity, four-letter word, dirty word, execration, imprecation

3. Genial: friendly and cheerful.
Sentence: “our genial host”

4. Putrefy: (of a body or other organic matter) decay or rot and produce a fetid smell.

5. Fleeting: lasting for a very short time.
Sentence: “for a fleeting moment I saw the face of a boy”
synonyms: brief, transient, short-lived, short, momentary, sudden, cursory, transitory, ephemeral, 

6. Nugatory: of no value or importance.
Sentence: “a nugatory and pointless observation”
synonyms: worthless, of no value, of no importance, unimportant, inconsequential, of no consequence, valueless, trifling, trivial, insignificant, meaningless

7. Muddle: bring into a disordered or confusing state.
Sentence: “they were muddling up the cards”

8. Foible: a minor weakness or eccentricity in someone’s character.

9. Protracted: lasting for a long time or longer than expected or usual.
Sentence: “a protracted and bitter dispute”

10. Drudgery: hard menial or dull work.
Sentence: “domestic drudgery”
synonyms: hard work, menial work, donkey work, toil, toiling, labour, hard/sweated labour, chores, prolonged
