In 2016-17, the number of vacancies were 19243. In the year 2017-18, the number of vacancies were 7883. This year the number of vacancies are 7275.

From the above two years cutoffs, we can analyse that the number of vacancies have been decreasing each year but the cutoff has been increasing each year. This year also, the number of vacancies have reduced and one can expect the cutoff to go even more higher. So, it means that you really need to burn the candles at both ends to sail through the examination. Start practicing right on else you will be left behind in the race.
