OICL AO Prelims Exam Pattern

The OICL AO (Administrative Officer) Preliminary Exam is the first stage of the selection process. It is an online objective test designed to assess candidates’ basic skills in English, reasoning, and quantitative aptitude. Candidates who qualify in this stage are shortlisted for the Main Examination.

OICL AO Selection Procedure

The selection process consists of three phases:

Phase I: Preliminary Examination

Online Objective Test for 100 marks, consisting of multiple sections with separate timing for each.

Phase II: Main Examination

Objective Test for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 30 marks, conducted online.

Descriptive Test requires typing answers on the computer immediately after the Objective Test.

Phase III: Interview

Candidates shortlisted from Phase II will be called for an interview, up to three times the number of vacancies for each stream.

The weightage is 80:20 for the main exam and interview.

Final Selection

Based on consolidated marks of the Objective Test (Main) and Interview.

OICL AO Application Fee

OICL AO Employee Bond 2025

The Oriental Insurance Company Limited (OICL) has a fixed service bond for candidates selected as Administrative Officers (AO). Every selected candidate must agree to work with the company for at least 4 years, including the probation period. This rule helps the organisation recover the cost of training and development given to new employees. Before joining, candidates must sign the bond and provide two sureties who are not blood relatives. If an employee resigns before completing 4 years, they must pay one year’s gross salary as compensation. The amount may be reduced depending on how long the employee has worked. If someone leaves during probation or is terminated, they must return all the salary paid to them and also pay ₹40,000 towards training expenses. Bonds from previous employers are not accepted, and the company does not provide leave salary or pension contribution under this bond.
