“This Heart Desires More”: Akshay Kataria (IBPS RRB PO, Sarva Haryana Gramin Bank)

"Just be Honest with Yourself and Never Loose Hope": Prasoon Jha (IBPS Clerk, Bank of Baroda)

Hello Friends,
This is Akshay Kataria from Hisar, Haryana. I am a Mechanical Engineer. I completed my graduation from PPIMT Hisar in 2014. After graduation I worked very hard and got a job of jr. product design engineer in a reputed organisation.  But after sometime, my consistent attraction towards armed forces made me to quit my job in mid 2015. So I started preparing for Airforce and Army but conferenced out several times. As defence personnel always says you should always have 2nd option. I chose banking as my 2nd option. I appeared for banking 1st time in 2015 PO exam after a 2 months dedicated preparation.I failed in it by just 0.25 marks.

Again after sometime I gave Andhra bank PO exam failed by 2 marks. But I realised banking is really easy for me. 2016, I totally gave it to the Army and Airforce SSBs but still edged out in conference. I gave SBI PO but failed by 0.75 marks. Now in end of 2016 I was in dilemma because my IBPS PO exam and CDS exam dates clashed. But i chose latter.  When my family, friends and others questioned me on my decision I replied– This year I am going to give my best shot at CDS, if will fail IBPS PO will still be in my hands I said this with  a confidence as if i already passed CDS exam. But funny part is I failed in CDS.
That was very disheartening but i know i still can be an officer in bank. So as per my promise to everyone and myself I started preparing for banking again in 2017 with full dedication.  I started from IDBI PO exam- failed in written by a large gap. It was my first test after 2015 preparations lot of things have been changed.  I started following adda247 channel where esp. Kush sir, Dey sir lectures added extra tyres to my preparation.
In between I gave many exams–
BOB PO – missed by 0.5 marks.
RBI GRADE B- failed by 1 mark in pre.
SBI PO- failed in pre by .25 mark.
What I realised that though from Bankersadda and Adda247 daily quizzes and guidance lectures I polished my concepts very well but one thing i was weak at my attemptation. So I started giving online adda247 exams and also joined a famous coaching centre in Hisar. Both of this made me very confident for exams. And I qualified in both exams IBPS PO and RRB PO.
Got allotment in RRB PO- Sarva Haryana Gramin Bank, Haryana.
Merit out in IBPS PO

I want to give special thanks to Kush sir, Saurabh day sir, Modi Sir and all adda247 team, also some of my guides Sagar sir, Amit sir, Hansraj Sir and Amar Sir all of you have equal share in my success. I also want to thank My family, friends and a special friend.. I appreciate your strong belief in my capabilities.. I will be always thankful to your invaluable part in my success.
For aspirants I can only give you one advice- this was a famous quote from a brave and famous military officer PVC Captain Vikram Batra — ” Ye dil mange more! ” Life will never gonna be easy.. there can be many failures followed by a little success.. but one should always give one’s best at every opportunity and heart should never be tired of anything until he/she succeed.
If you are truly willing your heart will also say.. I need it more! and you’ll cherish every little success and also big failures. Because you always want to grow bigger and better… just ask your heart.
Thanks and Best of luck.
