Education Qualification for EO/AO & APFC
To apply for the EO/AO or APFC posts under UPSC EPFO, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognized university. There’s no limitation on the subject, so graduates from any academic background can apply. Additionally, having a diploma in Company Law, Labour Law, or Public Administration is considered a desirable qualification, which can strengthen your profile during the selection process.

Nationality
Candidates belonging to the categories other than Indian citizens must fulfil the conditions prescribed by the Government of India. Where applicable, such candidates must obtain a Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Government of India. As per the UPSC EPFO Eligibility Criteria 2026, candidates must fulfil the nationality requirements prescribed by the Union Public Service Commission. A candidate must be:
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- A subject of Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
