11th January – Death Anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri 2022

Today is the 56th Death Anniversary of the former prime minister of India Dr. Lal Bahadur Shastri. The country observes the death anniversary of the former Prime Minister on 11th January. He left the world on 11th January 1966 in Tashkent which is presently known as Uzbekistan. He was the man of simplicity and he was the first recipient of the Bharat Ratna Award. Known Facts About Dr. Lal Bahadur Shastri:

Dr. Lal Bahadur Shastri has become the Prime Minister of India on 9th June 1964 and served as the same till 11 January 1966. He was the great freedom fighter who had coined the slogan of ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’ during the Indo-Pakistan war of 1965.

He has also promoted the white revolution to increase the production and supply of milk,  and the green revolution in 1965 that led to an increase in food production in various states Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana.

After the Independence of India, Dr. Lal Bahadur Shastri was also appointed as the Union Minister for Railways and  Transport and in 1964 Shastri became the 2nd Prime Minister of India.
