  • There will be 2 sections: Reasoning Ability and Quantitative Aptitude

  4. A Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, or East African countries of Zaire, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, and Malawi, with the intention of permanent settlement in India

SBI PO 2024 Selection Process

The SBI PO 2024 includes the various stages of the selection process which are as follows:

  • Prelims (Phase I): The first stage of SBI PO 2024 is the preliminary examination. The questions asked in Phase I are objective type and candidates 10 times the number of vacancies are shortlisted for mains exam.
  • Mains (Phase II): The second stage of SBI PO 2024 is the main examination. The questions asked in Phase II are objective as well as descriptive type and candidates 3 times the number of vacancies is shortlisted for the Psychometric Test, Interview & Group Exercise.
  • Psychometric Test, Interview & Group Exercise(Phase III): The third stage of SBI PO 2024 include Psychometric Test, Interview and Group Exercise. Those who score the minimum qualifying marks will be called for the final selection as Probationary Officers in SBI.

Candidates should qualify for both Phase II and Phase III independently. The scores achieved in the Main Examination (Phase II), including both the Objective Test and the Descriptive Test, will be combined with the scores from Phase III to determine the final merit list. Scores from the Preliminary Examination (Phase I) will not be considered while preparing the final merit list for selection.

  1. The Main Examination will be conducted online and will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Tests for 50 marks.
  2. There will be four sections and a descriptive section.
  3. The Descriptive Test will be administered immediately after the conclusion of the Objective Test and candidates will have to type their Descriptive Test answers on the computer.
  4. There will be a penalty for every incorrect answer marked by the candidate. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, 1/4th of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty to arrive at a corrected score
  5. If a question is left blank, i.e. if no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.

As mentioned in the Notification, there are two phases: Prelims and Mains that an aspirant has to qualify for getting selected as Junior Associate. Notably, there is no interview component in the SBI Clerk Exam. It is conducted annually on a national scale in an online computer-based format.

Candidates who clear the SBI Clerk preliminary examination are eligible to appear for the SBI Clerk mains examination, followed by a test in the local language. SBI Clerk 2024 Salary

SBI offers an attractive and competitive salary package to its employees. Below are the key highlights regarding the salary structure for SBI Clerks. This Salary structure is for information purposes since the 12th bipartite settlement salaries of Clerks will increase.

  • The revised SBI Clerk Pay Scale is Rs.17900-1000/3-20900-1230/3-24590-1490/4-30550-1730/7-42600-3270/1-45930-1990/1-47920. The initial salary package of an SBI Clerk in a Metro city like Mumbai has been revised to Rs 29000/- per month including the Dearness Allowance (D.A) & other allowances.
  • The starting Basic Pay is Rs.19900/- (Rs.17900/- plus two advance increments admissible to graduates)
  • A candidate will be serving 6 months on probation.
    Further, the performance of the newly recruited employees will be evaluated before the probation period comes to an end and the probation period of those employees whose performance does not meet the expectation may be extended.

There will also be a descriptive test for 50 marks. The descriptive test will be immediately followed by the objective test.

The complete mains exam of SBI PO 2024 will be 250 marks for which 3 hours 30 minutes will be provided (3 hours for objective test and 30 minutes for descriptive paper). The final result is prepared by considering the main examination and Interview in a ratio of 75:25. Prelims is a qualifying exam, and their marks are not considered.

No Sectional Cut-Off

There will be no sectional cut-off for SBI PO. Candidates numbering 10 times (approx.) the number of vacancies in each category will be shortlisted for the Main Examination from the top of the merit list.

The IBPS Clerk Selection Process has two stages. Based on the score of the prelims examination the candidates will qualify for the mains examination. The score of mains examination will decide the final selection of candidates. Here are the stages of the IBPS Clerk Selection Process.

1. Prelims Exam

The IBPS Clerk Selection Process starts with the prelims examination. The details on the prelim examination are given below. You must keep in mind this is only a qualifying stage of the examination.

  1. IBPS Clerk prelims exam consists of three sections: English language, Reasoning Ability, and Quantitative Aptitude.
  2. Candidates will be given 60 minutes to complete the examination.
  3. There is a negative marking in the examination.

  • The IBPS Clerk mains exam is divided into four sections.
  • Candidates will have a total of 160 minutes to complete the mains examination.
  • There will be negative markings for every wrong answer in both the Preliminary and Main Examination for which there is a penalty of ¼ or 0.25 of the marks assigned to the particular question.
