SEBI Grade A Eligibility Criteria
The SEBI Grade A Notification specifies certain eligibility requirements that candidates must fulfil to apply for this post. These criteria ensure that applicants possess the required professional and personal background suitable for the responsibilities of the role.
SEBI Grade A Educational Qualification
1. General Stream (56 Posts)
- Master’s Degree/PG Diploma (minimum two years) in any discipline, or
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law/Engineering, or
- Chartered Accountant (CA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Company Secretary (CS), or Cost Accountant.
2. Legal Stream (20 Posts)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized University/Institute.
- Desirable: Two years of post-qualification experience as an Advocate or equivalent legal professional experience.
3. Information Technology Stream (22 Posts)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (any branch), or
- Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a postgraduate qualification (minimum two years) in Computer Science, Computer Application, or Information Technology.
4. Research Stream (4 Posts)
- Master’s Degree/PG Diploma (minimum two years) in Economics, Commerce, Business Administration, or related quantitative disciplines such as Econometrics, Financial Economics, or Business Analytics,
OR - Master’s Degree/PG Diploma in Finance, Quantitative Techniques, or similar finance-related disciplines,
OR - Master’s Degree/PG Diploma in Statistics, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Big Data Analytics,
OR - Master’s in Mathematics with a one-year postgraduate diploma in Statistics or a related subject.
5. Official Language Stream (3 Posts)
- Master’s Degree in Hindi/Hindi Translation with English as a subject at the bachelor’s level,
OR - Master’s in Sanskrit/English/Economics/Commerce with Hindi as a subject at the bachelor’s level,
OR - Master’s in both English and Hindi/Hindi Translation.
6. Engineering (Electrical) Stream (2 Posts)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
- Desirable: Knowledge of electronic systems (CCTV, fire alarms, EPABX), maintenance of lifts, and experience in construction project management using PERT/CPM techniques.
7. Engineering (Civil) Stream (3 Posts)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/ Institute.
- Desirable: Experience in property maintenance, construction projects, and structural design using CAM/CAD or MS Project.
SEBI Grade A Age Limit 2025
Candidates must not have exceeded 30 years of age as on 30 September 2025, i.e., they must have been born on or after 01 October 1995.
Relaxation in the upper age limit applies to candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, and other reserved categories as per Government of India norms.
SEBI Grade A Recruitment 2025 Application Fee
To submit the application, candidates need to pay the required application fee, which is mentioned below. The fee is non-refundable and must be paid online at the time of application submission.
- UR/ OBC/ EWS: ₹1,000 + 18% GST
- SC/ ST/ PwBD: ₹100 + 18% GST
SEBI Grade A Notification 2025 Selection Process
The SEBI Grade A recruitment will be conducted in three phases to ensure a fair and transparent selection process:
Phase I- Prelims Online Examination:
Two objective papers testing General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, English, and stream-specific knowledge. Conducted online across multiple centres in India.
Phase II- Mains Online Examination:
Candidates shortlisted from Phase I will appear for two more papers, focused on advanced subject knowledge and analytical ability.
Phase III- Interview:
Candidates who qualify in Phase II will be invited for a personal interview.
The final merit will be based on performance in both Phase II and the interview.
SEBI Grade A Salary
The selected candidates will be appointed as Officers Grade A (Assistant Manager) and placed on probation for two years. The pay scale for SEBI Grade A officers is:
₹62,500 – 3,600 (4) – 76,900 – 4,050 (7) – 1,05,250 – EB – 4,050 (4) – 1,21,450 – 4,650 (1) – 1,26,100
At present, the gross emoluments at the minimum of this scale are approximately:
- ₹1,84,000 per month (without accommodation)
- ₹1,43,000 per month (with accommodation)
