- As a global hub for diamond cutting, polishing, and trade, India’s leadership comes at a time of increased emphasis on ethical sourcing, digital certification, traceability, and consumer trust.
- During its tenure as Vice Chair (2025) and Chair (2026), India will focus on strengthening governance, compliance, transparency, and data-driven monitoring within the KP framework.
- In India, the Department of Commerce is the nodal authority for KPCS, while the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) acts as the designated importing and exporting authority.
